No, this isn't a bash thread. I love Bess. For some reason I root for players out of Hawaii, dunno why, maybe the huge underdog status they usually carry. Bess is what he is, reliable, quick, nimble, not terribly fast but that's what he is. The last two games he's been quite terrible though with the ball handling skills. Fumble in the last game that to me is what changed all the momentum for the Saints. Dropped pass at the beginning of this game, and two fumbles. Lucky for us one was hard to see and we ran the quickest play in the history of plays after. Our WR corps is bad enough, I'm not saying this is a trend more than a fad, but that second fumble could have been disastrous, along with the first fumble.
i thought he really showed some potential towards the end of last year, but he really hasn't progressed much this year .... plus he isn't getting much separation, and isn't holding onto the ball ....
I am a huge Bess fan, but I think he has regressed this year. He keeps putting the ball on the ground which is unacceptable. I mean we got lucky on the TD drive because that was clearly a fumble
There is something odd going on. Bess used to be an almost guarunteed catch. It would not be for big gains but it doesn't take big gains to move the chains. Any one remeber if Fasano dropped a lot before this year?
Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. The one and only reason Bess is earning a check in the NFL is cause of his incredible hands. Something really wrong with his game right now For the record, that was indeed a fumble today that we should have lost. That was NOT however a fumble last week, that we did indeed lose anyways.
I think he's had a bad couple games, but I am going to bet he picks this back up. He has always been a guy to work incredibly hard and I think after the game he had today he will wake up and snap out of that slump he is in. He is still leading the team in receptions with 30 for over 200yards if those stats are correct.
Yes, we don't have huge playmaking ability on our WR corps right now, we just need each receiver to do what they do best, and I want to see Bess tighten his game up, the last two games his hands just aren't what they should be.
