The worst part of this is you know that the NFL will come out this week on one of the Sunday shows and state how it's "the right call" and that there wasn't "irreversible evidence."

We got jobbed. End of story.

    Haha!

So now the officials should randomly make rules during ball games?

Maybe it's something they can consider looking at in the offseason when the rule changes are reviewed, but you can't implement a 10-second runoff just because it seems like a cool thing to do at the moment.

No actually, I know the rule he's referring to, although I can;t quote it at the moment and don;t know if it would apply in this situation.

Bad call. They happen. Everyone quit whining. You're starting to sound like Bills fans bellyaching about the "music city miracle".

Bad analogy. The Music City Miracle was a legit play and the correct call.

The only time there's a runoff is when a team committs a false start penalty with no timeouts under a minute left to go in the half.

It's illegal to purposely fumble a football out of bounds. I remember being in like 8th grade, and watching a Buccaneers/49ers game.....and one of the Bucs receivers did something similar to try and stop the clock. and got penalized for it. That was like 1992. So don't pretend it's anything new. I'm pretty sure Ive seen it in a few other games as well, but that's the first one that I can remember.

Also, judging by Camarillo's demeanor in the post-game press conference when that subject came up (he was all like "sometimes bad things happen when trying to make a play" or something), he didn't even at least try to sell it as a fumble. Plus it was pretty obvious that he had both hands under the ball, throwing it upwards.

Personally I think they should award the game to the Dolphins !!!!!!!

They can make a big announcement...

"Because this botched play COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY kept the Dolphins from winning the ball game, we have decided to re-write history and give the Dolphins a win !! Because we can all agree, with 100 PERCENT CERTAINTY, that under no circumstances would the Saints have been able to pull anything off without it. We KNOW THIS for a FACT, because unbeknowest to the NFL fans, we hired Miss Cleo during this past offseason, in the event that something like this would come up. In fact, Miss Cleo KNEW this would come up...because..you know..she's psychic. P.S. Miss Cleo predicts that Rex Ryan will gain about 15 more pounds over the holidays".

This has nothing to do with the Dolphins. It has to do with ESPN not wanting to hurt their biggest money maker. Why would they give the NFL a black-eye when they want to show more NFL games? That would be foolish for them.

you say thia as if you KNOW the Saints would have won without being handed a td before half, and on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter. you know with certainty that they would have came back to win 21 points down, with say...10 minutes to go in the 3rd...with NO momentum? You KNOW the Saints would've won anyway?

no its all speculation. the only concrete fact is that we got screwed on the 2 calls that LITERALLY, lead to the 2 tds that allowed the saints back into the game. the davone bess incompletion at our own 35, in a 0-0 game is meaningless. im sure you can see the difference as far as the impact it had on the game. and the holding on rickys run? the saints got away with a TON of holding, all game. rewatch the game, there are at least 15 holds that went uncalled.

the fact is this. we WERE good enough to beat the Jets AND the refs.

we were not good enough to beat the Saints and the refs.

and thats really the bottom line. we got screwed about equally in both games. saints were too good to overcome it though.

We need to get this known, this is such bull$hit. The picture is 100% unquestionable proof. They cant overturn the win now obviously, but come on, they screwed us out of a win over the best team in football. Let the NFL know how bad they f**ked up and dont let them forget. Not only was that 7 points they shouldn't have had, it changed momentum totally. Those refs missed so many calls it was a joke.

All we can hope for is the Fins see this and come out fired up the rest of the season and take it out on the Jets and Patriots. They're sadly going to have to make up for this themselves as unfair as it is.

the more i think about it. the refs were quick to call that colston td, right before half too, despite not being in. they were quick to call this sharper pick a td. man, the refs couldnt wait to GIVE this game back to the saints.

its a game of inches, and the saints and dolphins are good enough to get close on their own. the refs simply tip the scale. we lose.

and this is the only conspiracy theory i will spew about or believe in. i do think, if its a bad or dominant game by one team, and there is a play or opportunity that is up to the refs, they will almost always call in favor of the losing team, in an effort to make it a more competitive(better) game. this is the only conspiracy you'll hear out of me. and i've seen it too many times to think otherwise.

It was a horrible call. There's no two ways about it. And it arguably was the difference in the game. At a minimum it would have made a Saint's victory much less probable. Trying to compare this to the malfunctioning equipment error that resulted in no points is ridiculous and really destroys the arguers credibility.

This was by far the most egregious example of poor officiating in this game. This is the play that Dolphin fans should be complaining about instead of the illegal forward pass call. That play was called correctly despite the unfortunate wording of the call. It hurts the Dolphin fans credibility b/c it shows that you really don' understand the rule and are just hung up on the verbiage.

It also doesn't compare to a non call for holding. That happens all the time. In fact, during the second half there were several plays where Porter was being blatantly held. The ref's just weren't calling the holds much for either side.

There is also no question that the ball went over the pylon. That would have been a TD if he were actually holding the ball. As he wasn't it was a touchback. Take away 7 points and give the ball back to Miami.

But there was no excuse for the ref in perfect position to miss that call on the Sharper return. He was in the perfect position to get it right. This doesn't mean it was a conspiracy. It doesn't change the fact that NO gets credited with the victory. But it does mean that the ref got it wrong and that it may have been the difference in the game.

i actually have no issues with the saints either. after katrina, they were probably the only team i ever went out of my way to root for on a week by week basis. probably my 2nd favorite unis too.

but it crushed me to lose like this. to go from knowing that we will win, to having bad calls completely flip momentum and virtually hand the game away.

the colston call gave the saints momentum. they went from down 21 to down 14. when the fact is, time should have ran out on them in the 2nd.

and then the sharper call was the icing. with a FULL half to play, that 3 td lead we earned was wiped to a single td. and no, i dont think they would have came back from a 21 point deficit with 25 minutes left in the game.

A ball fumbled into the end zone and then goes out behind the pylon is also a touchback. It's not just when it goes out the back of the end zone.
