Besides asinine penalties in the preseason, I thought he played pretty well. And he was doing very good in the beginning of the season until he got hurt. So yeah, I have watched, and there is a difference. A positive difference.
I like how everything can be discredited because we played Oakland. We might as well have lost, right?
I do believe that alot of Jets fans discredited what we did last year because of our "easy 4th place schedule". It was ridiculous then because we lost to both of our non-common opponents (Houston and Baltimore), something you guys haven't done this year (Oakland). Learn to deal with it. We did.
I keep saying people saying weather will be a factor for Sanchez. The weather will not be a factor for any team, its going to be 60 degrees and sunny. It will just be a hard hitting game like last time. Both teams will run, it will come down to which QB makes the fewest mistakes. The Jets will test our rookies in the secondary, you can bet on that.
Weather.com has the forecast for the NY area has having a good chance for rain as of this morning. Those can change every 10 minutes, so we will have to wait and see.
Nah, I'm here, the front will move out on Sat evening and Sunday will be nice. Even if it lingers into the AM (which than I could cancel my girls doubleheader softball game!) it will still be sunny and 60 by game time. Even with light rain its still going to be 60ish. Although I do agree the weatherman have been horrible at predicting the weather this year.
And just like last time, your wife is going to be smiling after the game and someone (you) is going to be a grumpy Gus on the way home.
ahh the first of three AFC East sweeps of 2009. Do we crush Dirty Sanchez's psychology in this game and leave him a trembling bag of nerves doubting his ability to do anything other than flip burgers. How soon befoer the calls for Kellen Clemons are heard in Giants stadium again
Now, I am not speaking for you, because I don't know if you are on JN, and what your name is if you are tehre, but this is the trend over the past month. 3-0 We are going to the superbowl! 3-1 Sanchez had a bad game, we win otherwise, we shut down the best offense in the NFL we are in good shape, we will cream dolfags. 3-2 Miami got lucky. We played our worst possible defensive games, they played their bet possible offensive game and barely won by 4. 3-3 We lost to the bills Jenkins is done half the board goes on suicide watch Fire rex, sanches is a bust, draft a QB and get a new HC 4-3 We beat the raiders going to the superbowl That is literally what happened over there. Now im not saying that everything is negated, but i just don't get it. What has changed since the loss to us, then bills, and then your victory over raiders besides the fact that Jenkins are Leon got hurt?
I don't post at JN. I think I have an account. But TGG hasn't been much better. I came into this season hoping for 8-8 or better, but expecting 8-8 or less. And I don't think the Jets are Super Bowl contenders. Playoffs? Maybe. However... I don't think the Dolphins are on that level, either. As a matter of fact, I still think they're less than us. We had our first defensive meltdown against you guys, and I expect the coaching staff to not let that happen again.
Wow....all I have is WOW We must not be watching the same Lito Sheppard. I was really curious to see if he had come back from his season on the bench. 2+ years ago I watched a guy who never had technique (NEVER) but great athletic skills... Since then I have watched a guy who doesnt have either anymore. To say he plays out of position is a serious understatement, and for a CB who is going to be asked to MAKE DAMN SURE he is in position (Due to Sexy Rexy blitzing like Hitler) he doesnt stand a chance. It has actually been a blessing in disguise for you guys he has been hurt IMO.
I'd be worried If I was a Jets fan, we own Calvin Pace and Bart Scott was a none factor in our last meeting. and they get to face that OL that dominated them. and please blitz more, I'd love to see your entire defense get torched by Ricky again. a fat window licking QB
If we are up 38-0, I will buy him a few myself. BTW: I sure hope not. I was pissed. It was really bad because of all the chants and being in Land Dolphin Stadium. Good news this time, is I won't be on the field during warm ups... (on the field twice in Miami, you guys won both games) Seriously? Comparing one fan base to another fan base because they get excited at winning? I could pull quotes from PH and here about how at 2-4 the Dolphins will still make the playoffs, sweep the AFC East and are the second best team (behind the Patriots). So what you are saying is, fans are unreasonable. Nice. BZ
We handed teh Raiders their asses. Losing to you guys on Monday night by 6 (?) isn't getting our asses handed to us. It will be close this time, but the right mix of getting to Henne and home field I hope gets us a win. BZ
like before we played you the first time everyone was telling me (and dolfans) that we were over confident cause we man-handled a "****ty bills team" then we beat you. then the bills beat you. then everyone tried to forget they said that......i didnt forget. oh and we beat the bills with their starting qb. i just love how calvin pace is "back" cause he had 3 sacks against oakland. really? cam wake had 3 sacks against buffalo.....he has done nothing sense. sorry for not buying it
Not comparing, i was openly wondering what has changed since the last time we met, besides you guys losing the centerpiece of your defense, and your scat back? I do not understand the mentality of everything going to be fine now, after beating raiders.
If you want to bring up "other" games......We rolled over a team that beat you and sent half your fan base to therapy.....and did so with a QB getting his first start. The score was close......but you got beat up that Monday night.
What has changed... - A Rookie QB with more experience (in losing, which is good) - A rookie HC going back to what he knows (running/defense) - We get 3 players back, Cotchery/Shepard/Pace (fully) - Have have tape on Henne and more experience with the WC We did.... beat up and beat. No doubt. You also just let a team score over 40 points on you that we heald to 10 offense points (in their house). I am not saying this will be a blowout (or as we Jet fans call it, "Hot Dog Time"), but I think we have every chance of winning. BZ
I don't know, I sense the Dolphins are in Rexie's head now. I see us putting together a little streak against the Jets, similar to what you did to us in the late '90s, early '00s when the Jets were in JJ's and Wanny's head. I just don't see how you are going to stop our running game? It wasn't trickery that beat you on MNF, it was pure brute strength on our part. And now you are weaker up front. If you do win, it will be due to turnovers by Henne, if your D and the crowd can cause them. So I don't think a Dolphin win is guaranteed. But I think we know the formula to beat you and you'll see that played out on Sunday ... IMHO!
The same team that the Giants said "was like playing a scrimmage game against"? Eh, we will see, Jets more than likely will move formations around between 3-4/4-3 just depending, and we are beginning to throw more out of the Wildcat. You guys lost Jenks and L Washington We've lost Penny, Cobbs, and Will Allen and Crowder could miss this game. Really this game sounds like a tossup at the moment, Rookie Qb vs Rookie Cb's. BTW, any truth to the rumor that Ellis is going to throw Gholston over the Oline and unto Henne in an attempt to get him a sack?
I don't think we killed you guys at all, but I will say your head coaches arrogance was a major downfall in your loose. He is way too cocky (and living in this area I know us Metropolitan people tend to love that). But I honestly think he thought he would come in and march all over us, and I don't think he made any changes to the defense from what he did with the Ravens and that came up and bit him in the @$$ I don't expect that this time.
Yeah, they've been humbled and have (hopefully) learned and will (hopefully) rebound and play up to their potential. Overcoming the loss of Jenkins will be the biggest challenge, not the wildcat.
It'd be the closest the Ghost will ever come to a sack in his career. Too bad you didn't. Looks like that wouldn't have worked out either way, other than preventing you from taking Henne, which seems to be working well. Yes. I think that the MNF was a humbling experience for the Jets' players and coaching staff. Or at least, it should have been. I'm expecting that to not happen again, especially in our own house.
Im gonna eat a hot dog for every TD we score while in the wildcat set on Sunday. Kobayashi is going down Sunday.....in NYC.
Got to love Dolphins-Jets week! Especially after such an epic game that we won. I and I'm sure the Dolphins haven't forgotten all the disrespect some of the Jet players and their head coach were handing out after the game. Should be a good one yet again.
I feel like i already have one. HAHAHA This season has caused much beverage consumption that typically leads to that rex ryan sized belly!
Not a prayer? Wow.. Agreed you will pick up yards with the WC, all the Jets defense has to do is stop it enough so you give up on it like you did against the Saints. Nice... I will eat one for every sack of Henne. BZ
I think "not a prayer" is overstating it a bit, but I do think you guys will have a harder time. Now, saying all your D has to do was stop it to give up on it is silly. a) Everybody screaming that you guys would end the wildcat the first time around, nothing changed since then, besides the fact that you lost your run stopper. So saying "stop it enough to..." is oversimplifying it, because its alot easier said, than done. and b) I don't think it was so much as them stoping us, as poor coaching on our part. NOs offense is the best in the league, so any lead wasn't rally safe with them. So last time you were starving all the way back NYC?
I don't foresee them making that mistake two weeks in a row. The fact that you think they can stop Miami's run without Jenkins when they couldn't do it with him makes me think 'Wow'. We'll see, anything can happen I guess.
Yeah I think so too. This will probably be a pretty good test as to how good of a HC he is, IMO. How well does he prioritize? Is he going to be so caught up in stopping the WC that he doesn't focus enough on everything else? The Jets aren't really a very good run stopping team. They rank #22. They're giving up 4.2 ypc and 116.1 ypg. http://profootballweekly.com/nfl/statistics/teams/ Neither are they getting it done in the SCKs and INTs area; ranked 31st with 8 and 7 respectively. http://profootballweekly.com/nfl/statistics/teams/ I like our chances in this rematch.
