is there one that I'm missing? I'd like one thread to discuss cool apps that you have... games... features... etc. I just tried this app called Shazam, which IIRC was free when I downloaded it a while ago... It records a sample of a song and tells you what that song is, what album it's from etc. Now I figured it couldn't possibly be that accurate. But I tried some pretty obsolete songs, and sure enough, it found them. Pretty cool. What apps you got that you can recommend? I of course like anything that is sports related. The weather channel app is pretty kick ***. When I was on my vacation back in July in Orlando we were at Epcot. Saw a pretty nasty storm approaching... went on the app, pulled up radar, centered to my location and I could tell from the image all I needed to know. Good stuff. Have an app called pic2shop, that allows you to snap an image of a UPC bar code on a product, it'll define the product and tell you where you can buy it online... it's not that great though as the shopping locations are limited... still interesting as hell.
Shazam works great, use it all the time. Other useful ones I have are the Weather Channel app, ESPN ScoreCenter, SpeedDial, Pandora, Facebook, Google Earth, Google, etc... Fun games - Let's Golf, Geared, NFL 2010, Bloons, RSoccer09, Oregon Trail, Flick Fishing, Flight Control, Vegas Pool, Paper Toss, TanZen, and really anything Gameloft makes like Assassin's Creed, Hero of Sparta, Modern Combat, etc....
Shazam is an amazing application. i can't recommend it enough. My favorite game is Peggle. download & you will never stop playing. I liked it so much i bought the xbox 360 arcade version too!
I just bought an Ipod touch and have been using nonstop. The apps I use the most so far are Facebook and AIM. I also like the Dolphins app from the Miami Herald it has been very useful for Fins news.
I have Peggle for the PC for the Kids... they love it... and i was shocked at how closely the App resembles the PC version.
Other than the ones mentioned, I use yahoo's fantasy football app, NYTimes, Trailguru's pretty good to track running routes/times.
I added espn radio today. I think that was 2.99. Then when looking for an app where I could listen to WWL out of new Orleans I came across flycast, which is free. Most of the espn radio content you can get on flycast. I love the google app. It has a voice search which keeps you from having to type your searches. For metallica fans metallica live is cool. It's 99 cents and they constanty update it with recent concerts you can listen to. They also have archived concerts going back to 1982. Trapster is cool for alerting you to speed traps. If you have NFL Sunday ticket the Sunday ticket app allows you to watch the games on your phone. *
Hey does anyone have any suggestions for cool apps or fun games? Also if anyone has them how are the Monopoly,Sims 3,or Who wants to be a Millionaire apps? I just wanted to ask before I bought any of them.
