I agree, Grid. I don't think Ginn is a #1...but I think he could be very effective and dynamic. I think that his drops do get magnified by fans. That being said, he is not as sure-handed this year. He's dropping balls that should be caught. I badly want Ginn to suceed. Also, there are a number of people on here who hate him, and want him to fail. I don't think we should cut him or trade him, I just want him to get his isht straightened out, and start making plays. He had improved every year up until this one.

I hate Matt Roth. I think he sucks and people only like him cause they like his tattoos.

However, I want to be proven wrong. I want Roth to succeed. I want him to (get on the field) and make big plays. I want to start a "I Was Wrong About Matt Roth" thread. I want people to make fun of me for being stupid.

I want Ginn to succeed, but man does he suck! I take no joy in his level of suck.

    repped ya!

I agree.. I am without a doubt that there are posters here that are revelling in Ginns failure. They have attacked him at every opportunity for three years, creating threads and making snide comments in every place they can slip one in. Hoping against hope he would fail so they could get in their "told you so's" They make little degrading pictures of him and assign derogatory nicknames... and then claim over and over "but I REALLY want him to succeed" ....rightttt, after all the effort to smear him you expect me to believe you are "really" on his side? pfft, the true fan colors are shining right now.

Sorry Marty but I think that's a ridiculous way to defend your own opinions on the matter........you guys have been staunchly defending a guy that has become entirely indefensible. Now the only thing left is to go after those that "told you so".....

Don't put all of us Ginn "bashers" in the same barrel as those that start the Ginn sucks or cut Ginn threads out of anger and emotion following a game.

There are plenty of us that have "bashed" him in the past that spent the time to explain ourselves......and at this point, the general consensus is that we are right, always have been.

You guys can turn this argument on the fans all you want, it doesn't change the facts that you guys were wrong about Ginn. Is this indictment of the fans any different than what you're accusing them of? It appears your anger over the argument itself, out weighs everything else....so what's the difference between you and them?

I have to write it off to him playing scared... Perhaps the more he plays, and the more he gets hit, the more scared he gets, and therefore is concentrating more on getting hit than actually catching the ball.. Thats just my opinion, because I do not see how he can be so sure handed his first 2 seasons, and then be so crappy handed his third season.. and I dont think it is him trying to make a play, because we can all see how scared he plays.

Apparently Ginn declined to speak to the media again today after refusing to speak yesterday as well.

Someone on the team, a leader, needs to get on his *** about accountability. Everyone and their mother (including mine) knows he had a bad game. Get out there and take the questions, give the cliche answers and move on to the next week.

well, when I bash someone for three years while pretending to actually be on his side "wink wink" then come call me out. You know darned well the post wasn't directed towards you, so please don't go out of your way to be offended by it. I am simply calling out the hypocracy of those now revelling in their glory of Tedd Ginns failures... I wonder how many of them would return a NFL kick and then still call the kid a coward.

Some of the comments are getting a little too personal, please keep the conversation civil.

    Thanks

I agree 110%, we saw the same thing happen to Ronnie every week of his career until we started using the WC. Every week there was a "Ronnie is a bust" or "He isn't a starting caliber RB" type post/thread, now that he's being used properly he's showing what he's capable of. Yet the naysayers, nitpickers and nickname creators couldn't get enough during the first few years of his career, every mistake and every game in which the coaching staff abandoned the run when we were behind were concrete proof (!) that Ronnie was a bust, we "couldn't trade Ronnie for a bag of balls", he was "too soft and couldn't find a hole if he fell in it", and we would have been better off drafting Cadillac Williams. :pity:

People need a whipping boy, Ginn just happens to be that guy. Did he make mistakes yesterday? Sure did, so did all of our players and Sparano, but this game is CLEARLY Ginn's fault.

I for one liked the Ginn pick.. I have defended him each year with the anticipation that this year was his break out year, however, up until week 3, I have stopped making excuses. It seems every game, he is the reason why did not score, or we did not convert a crucial 3rd down, and im not singling Ginn out, because fasano, who I believe was a true #1 TE last year, has dropped off that area too. For me anyway, I am done waiting for Ginn to show up, I expect nothing from him aside from maybe 3 or 4 TD's this year and about 500 yards. Ginn has regressed tremendously this year, its a fact. Hopefully, he can toughen up and become a true football player, consistently

Does he have potential, hell yea! but there was another reciever we all waited for to show up consistenly with all the potential int eh world, and he is now sucking it up for San Diego.

yeah somethings up. Not sure what it is. I do think he needs to try a little bit harder on somethings as well. Seems like his head isn't in the game for some reason this year.

The Ginn situation reminds me of baseball players who suddenly lose their accuracy when pitching the ball and don't recover.

I would say 90% of his issues are mental. He's got to just stop over-thinking and just play football out there.

He also needs to get better at route running. All he does right now is the hitch and fade. I'd love to see him on a crossing route or an out route, but he rounds everything off so those patterns are out for him.

You have a point. Anyway, yeah, people are getting a little too emotional. It would help if the pro- and anti-Ginns would see that their opponents are sincere and mean what they say (and I think most participants in the thread do see that), and that everyone wants the Dolphins to do well.

Man, just reading this thread I will say this much for Ted Ginn and its pretty much not debatable: Ted Ginn has divided up a message board in a manner that AJ Feely, Jay Fiedler, and Cam Cameron couldnt even dream of.

I happen to believe Ginn can still be a good receiver in this league but this was just a very bad game by him. Every aspect of his game needs work from his hands to routes and consistency. But he has shown enough that if he were my #2 receiver Id be ok with that. The problem is that we dont have a #1 and it all falls on Ginn which its obvious he cannot handle that role.

As a #9 overall pick he is a failure, you want a very good player there who is at or near a pro bowl level. As a player in this league Ginn has more then enough tools to stick and have a decent career. IMO we can most definitely be successful with Ted Ginn on this team.

I've been called out for bashing Ginn by yourself and others ( primarily the ones thanking you for this post). I don't see how I'm going "out of my way" as you put it. It's not like I haven't been routinely grouped with those posting on emotion and anger...

And not sure about the rest here but if I returned a kick in the NFL I'd look scared and tentative......like Ginn

Bottom line is I doubt there are very many Fin fans that want him to fail....his failures cost us games. I would have cut a freakin leg off for a win yesterday. The fact that Ginn was giving us "bashers" more material to work with, meant very little after watching a great win slip away.

This Ginn stuff pales in comparison to those days........and thank god for that. lol

I think if we had a 'true #1' Ginn would really have a chance to shine. Imagine checking down to him, flipping him a short 5 yard pass and watch him burn down field for another X yards.

(X = whatever awesome number you want to put there)

He's young enough to still deserve a chance to show what he's got, I just pray we don't put all our eggs in his basket come the Draft and FA period.

Even before he came on strong in 2007, Brown had shown that he wasn't an extremely limited player being asked to do way more than his skill set would allow. It was just a matter of a light coming on....

Ted Ginn could have a flood lamp shoved up his rear and the light still won't come on......he's just not that talented of a receiver. He never has been

And while this game can't be solely laid at the feet of Teddy boy, he most deff should be standing in line with the rest of the goats from yesterday.

Shifting the focus to a few irrational posters doesn't change anything in regards to Tedd Ginn......it doesn't make any of you that have supported him/ wanted him on draft day, any less wrong.

I'm sorry and I'm not trying to start any stuff with any of you but I think what you guys are doing in these posts, looks just as bad as those you are targeting. And it certainly doesn't help the situation any by continuing to stir the pot.....just my couple pennies on the matter

I thought he was playing volleyball. FWIW he did the best he could as a Phin, and the fact that Wanny was too narrow-minded to bring in anyone to challenge him was not his fault. I still remember him battling it out against the Raiders in '01, I was at that game and he was a fighter. He wasn't great, and I don't think he was the type of guy that could win playoff games, let alone a Super Bowl, but he was a class act.

The wounds have healed I guess!
