It all started with Davone Bess's fumble which snowballed into something much more I have to start off with the fact Tony Sporano making one of the dumbest calls of the season and perhaps his career by calling a TO when the Saints were going to rush and kick a FG. What was going through his mind? I knew once we called that TO the Saints would go for it. I didn't think they would QB sneak it but go for it nonetheless. I have to say the Wildcat was a nonfactor after the first quarter. The Saints zeroed in on it and the running game and they forced Henne to beat us which is the right move considering we don't have 1 playmaker on offense (I would have said we have a playmaker but Ginn is far too inconsistent to be a threat.) Once the running game was being shutdown I saw trouble coming and it didn't take long to be fulfilled with Ginn dropping a catchable ball to be picked off and taken to the house by Darren Sharper which I have to say should have been a Touchback seeing how Ginn hustled his *** to make a play sadly there wasn't a clear angle. So many things went wrong in the second half but that very last drive was brutal. I thought it was over when Ginn dropped that easy pass only to have Greg Camarillo bail his *** out only to make one of the stupidest players a player can make on the next play. That triggered the end for the Dolphins. We need a legitimate threat at Receiver. Tough loss
honestly this is the type of game where the blame lies with the coach. a winning coach doesnt allow that game to get out of hand. sparano better take a long hard look at himself this week
That call by sparano was the start of the collapse IMO. Not only does it give the Saints 7, and fire them up for the second half, but it almost seemed to be recognized by the players as a boneheaded move by coaching, and may have caused them to loose a bit of faith in the staff, and the game plan in place for putting them into that situation. You can argue that as the case, or also the fact that you had to expect the Saints offense was going to wake up sometime. Personally, I feel the players really lost the trust in the game plan, and the coaching staff after that time out call, that caused the TD, that took the wind out of the phins sails today.
The refs made some very controversial calls that led to 14 points for the Saints. This loss is not all on coach. It is the fact that we lack talent at Wide Receiver and it showed that last drive.
I wouldnt really put this on the coach either. Sharper td, was not a td. He cant help that Ginn has feet for hands. He should get blame for allowing Wilson on the field though.
Our secondary is trash. Vontae Davis great special teamer but plays awful playing defense. Lets Shockey bumble his way down towards the redzone gets beat constantly. I wish we drafted someone other than Davis
Agreed very unusual to see that from him. He comes off as a sure bet to get yards but this was his worst game Ive seen him play.
Why play Wilson anymore? I'd rather see Clemons out there and make the same mistakes than I would Wilson.
Wilson is one of the worst players to have a starting job. I think its a 3 way tie with JaMarcus Russel and Derek Anderson.
its on the coach. there were so many players that screwed up that that becomes coaching not to mention the ridiculous playcalling not to mention the timeout, etc. he needs to get the team playing discilpined
Why is everyone so in love with Bess? The guy has NO SPEED whatsoever. He is good for 3 yard passes and that's it! No more, no less. He's not Wes Welker and will NEVER be.
I love how almost every pass we have is with two tight ends and a fullback. If I see one more incomplete pass to Polite on a crucial third down I am going to freak out.
Exactly. We're seeing first hand why this kid wasn't drafted. He's averaging 7.6 YPC. 7.6, folks. That's embarrassing.
This game was exactly like the Colt's game....we dominate another team but make way too many mistakes and because of it two teams remain unbeaten. I have no idea what Ted Ginn is doing, but taking him with the 9th overall pick was one of the dumbest moves ever....the guy cannot make catches when it counts and drops easy passes. The Bess fumble before the half should have been overturned....his knee was down. Then Sharper's INT goes through the end zone but doesn't get overturned. We gave them 14 points in less then one minute on those two plays. You cannot make mistakes like this and win, and there is no excuse at losing a 24-3 lead like that and giving away a game. Maybe the Phins can work at being a little tougher and smarter.....we should be 4-2, but now we are 2-4 and pissing away what could have been a nice season.
