Gah, that was an incredibly stupid decision by Sparano to call TO

 

Up 24-10, color me happy.

 

I sure hope Parcells is going down to the lockerroom to kick Sparano's *** for that.

a 14 point lead against New Orleans is not enough for me. I was going to have a damn good half time too arggghhh. Well if we come out like we did in the first half we win this. They've figured out our running game, because we are not passing. We better get some more passes sprinkled in here

 

Why did the clock stop? He was down in bounds and they had no timeouts. I guess a booth review must stop the clock?
Then we make the most stupid timeout in the history of timeouts.

 

Refs gave them that ****ING TD. That was huge. MF'er

 

Wow... Sparano seriously dropped the ball on that one, that was horse ****. I would have much rathered this be a 3 score game... augh.

We need to keep up our game coming out of the half, or this is going to turn around.

 

Tony Sporano may have singlehandedly gave NO the momentum going into halftime. Congratulations!

 

I'm not, should have been 24-3 if the Refs called it right the first time. It's not like there isn't two refs at the goal line that could have made that call right live. Geesh!!!

Sure, Sparano goofed up there, but it should have never come to that. We got screwed, and if it cost us the game, refs need to be FIRED!!!!!!

Let's not put too much on Sparano here - it's the refs that messed up, not him! It should have never come to that!

 

we're up on a team who most people thought would blow us out.

Wow...***** ***** *****...we are up by 2 TD's and have the kickoff to begin the 2nd half, NOLA is packing the los, Henne has to pass a bit, we are in good shape phinfans.

 

Not that I really know, but it looked as if there was too many players on the field (not that it makes a difference). There also looked to be some confusion on defense.

24-6 and 24-10 is a big difference. Oh well, let's see what Henne and Co. can do at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

 

Right, but that timeout was moronic, it allowed the Saints to change their mind and score 7.

 

Ugh... i just downed a beer... and I still don't feel any better about sparano's decision to call that timeout, and essentially give the saints a TD

 

The Saints are a team that can score in bunches in a hurry, that boneheaded TO could come back to haunt us.

 

Is anyone else damn impressed with the way our safeties have been playing today? Holy crap it's like leaps and bounds from how they've been playing this year.

Wilson is starting to earn his check, lets hope he keeps it up.

But that type of mistake happens, they reversed it, and then said the clock will start, which is why Payton rushed his kicker on there. Then I see sparano doing his timeout call and Im' yelling at the screen, why why why?????? Then they show Brees on the sideline and i"M like Oh effing no!

 

Why? BEcause the SAints can score at will if they want. You think they aren't breaking down our defense right now in the lockerroom? I fear the Saints, and being up 21 is better than 14.

Still, yeah, great great half overall, nobody can argue with that. Btu I don't like what went down at the end of the half at all!!

 

This was the most stupid decision of an NFL HC since Mornhinweg chose to kick it in overtime some 6 or 7 years ago. I still can't believe that actually happened.

Agreed, but if the refs call it right the first time, no matter. But - yeah - bad calls happen, so Sparano should have been smarter than that!

 

bro... I understand... but for the refs to make that call, at full game speed is really tough. Thats why we have replay...

What really screwed it up, was sparano's TO call...

 

after that play got overturned, they should have declared the half to be over. no way the saints could have run another play in 5 seconds. NO WAY! NFL needs to change this ruling.

we held them to a 3 and out on their first drive (they usually score)

we held them to 3 for the m ajority of the half

it took them two quarters to score one touchdown.

obviously being up by more is better, but coaches ice kickers all the time.

this is just another reason why i hate the fact that they do and need to stop.

That's easy to say on a bang bang play, but the call was reviewed, and the refs ultimately got it right. Had Sparano not called the TO, they may not have gotten the FG off at all. As soon as the refs started the clock, the would have had to snap it. Any little mistake, the play doesn't happen.

I don't put it on the Refs at all. We got to see a half second over about 3. They were watching real time, and made the correct call after the review.

 

Regardless, you don't give them the option, just get your team out there and defend the FG.

 

I hear ya, I'm a ref myself (HS)

I just know where they are supposed to be at that point, and I'm surprised both got it wrong, but it does happen, at all levels.

I just hope this doesn't ruin things for us!!!

You're telling me Sparano wanted to ice the kicker who is kicking the ball where the line of scrimmage is the 5 yard line?

that was a dumb call but he ain't that stupid
