Matt Roth misses morning practice http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...lphins-matt-roth-misses-morning-practice.html
What is the story with this guy? Wish Paul Harvey was still around so we could get"The rest of the story".
I read this and the first thing I think is "here we go again." He's seen the practice field I believe exactly once since the start of the season. Even if he recovers from this (and it's an ankle injury, he should), I don't see him getting into game shape until at least week 10 or 11 of the regular season.
And people were referring to him as 'Maximus' when we drafted him. C'mon Roth, get healthy and get on board!
could there be more to this story? things happen however a pattern is beginning to arise that is troubling... Parcells does not like these things happening on his team
Yeah, it's not like there are 7 or 8 guys paid to cover the Dolphins or something.. For Roth's brittleness, I've got to say the Dolphins blogosphere and reporters not getting to the bottom of this is surprising and disappointing. Typically they would ask someone who was just cut and not likely to be back like...I don't know..a certain Guard who was picked up by Tampa, or a DT that now plays in Denver...
Roth is going to be more trouble than hes worth. He's become a distraction to the team. Hes in the DOg House and instead of manning up hes playing all the BS cards he can.. Were stuck this season with him, but we need to move him this offseason for a wideout. Say what you will hes lied multiple times to the coach, hes playing soft because of fear of hurting himself, and hes sappy about a contract extension.. Play for pay...
Now i get it , never understood the move to pick up Lydon Murtha with knee problems but now its all making sense.Bill wanted roth to have someone to chat with. I take what i said about bill back
Jesus. The dude is clearly out of football shape. The only way to get into football shape is to play. football. These kinds of nicks/injuries are COMMON when you're out of shape. Roth hasn't practiced since what, June? Even Roth said it's no big deal. And Sparano expected it. We need to take a chill pill and not OVERREACT about a little ankle. I mean, it's not like the dude played an ENTIRE SEASON on a busted groin last year. There's no reason to risk injury right now. I seriously doubt this injury would keep him out of a game. And I wouldn't be surprised if he's back pretty quickly. He wasn't going to play this week anyway.
Roth's an unrestricted free agent after the season. Doubtful he'll be tagged, but you never know. However, if there's no CBA, he's a restricted free agent with one year left before UFA. Still, if he's the liability he's being portrayed as in this thread, the last thing I can see is getting a quality wide receiver in a trade.
