I've been to the original one in Miami Lakes. It's the best dining experience I've ever had. Not to mention the food and steaks are OUTSTANDING. Great service also.
The one in Orlando is pretty cool. They get mad if you go in there dressed like a sports fan, but the wall decor and decorations are pretty amazing. Food was decent, but theres a few other steakhouses in Orlando that beat it out. Kinda out of the way and shoved in the corner of a tough to get to disney hotel. Id like to try some others.
Well, I can say I've been to this one and had a bad experience. There used to be one right off the Foggy Bottom Metro stop attached to a Marriot I believe. Successfully completed the 48oz challenge there. The food was great. Then that hotel went away and so did the Shula's. So we went to the one it Tyson's. Ordered a steak Pittsburgh style aka still mooing. It came back well done. Sent it back and it came back medium. I ate it, but it was awful and the service is sub-par. Might have caught them on an off night, but I can tell you this isn't one of the finer Shula's. From these reviews it looks like others had similar experiences - http://www.yelp.com/biz/shulas-steak-house-vienna
So I guess I shouldn't wear a Dolphins jersey? I'd have to wear something. Maybe a Fins jacket or hat. I wish NYC had the Shula2 or Shula's Grill, more laid back I think. And I don't think the steakhouse shows dolphins/nfl games. The Shula2 does since it's called "steak and sports" and probably the grill.
I've only been to the Orlando location in the Dolphin Hotel at Epcot. The 22oz Kansas City Strip was a great, great steak. I like the idea of them bringing out all the different raw cuts, and getting to see and pick out the exact steak you're going to eat. We had a waiter that was very up on his wines. A Chateau St. Michelle merlot was just the ticket. Not a merlot fan, but he assured me that it behaved like a cabernet. He was right! Plus, I just had to pay homage to the man!
lol Same thing happen to me i was dressed pretty sporty and my girl decided to go there i had a dolphin tee shirt and cap and the lady says can you remove your hat i was like what the @@@@ gave her a face and still ate there. Nothing out of this world pricey and small quanity but food was not bad
Yeah the steakhouse is in NYC and I think they're opening one in upstate NY. I wonder how many Jets fans go haha. There's also one in the New England area, i think its the grill one.
Really?? I felt it was one of the WORST dining experiences for me. The food? barely better than maybe a Chili's/Fridays. The Best steaks i ever had were at the Tequila Ranch at the Hard Rock and Morton's steakhouse.
I've been to the Tyson's Corner one too. Was not impressed at all. The food was no better than I could get at any Outback, but much, much more in price. The service wasn't bad. Just was no where near worth the money. Hopefully the Tysons Corner one is just a bad one.
I've been in New York and Baltimore. I thought they were both great experiences. You're definitely paying for the service, but the food is still excellent. Most certainly not a place you wear a jersey/tshirt and hat. I wouldn't suggest anything less than a Polo with jeans and a nice pair of shoes.
Shula's 2 is a sports bar, first of all. To the person who compared Shula's Original Steakhouse in Miami Lakes to Chilis or Fridays.....no comment.
yeah best steakhouse in new york for me is "Old Homestead". Love the Palm Surf and Turf. Gallaghers and Smith and Wollensky's are good too. I havent been to Shula's yet but I heard it was pretty good. Its a bit of a tourist trap I think by the location, times square?
I concur. However, putting it up against Luger's is unfair. Luger's is one of the best steakhouses in the nation and has been in the business for a long time. I'd put Shula's below the Ruth Chris/Morton's Steak house tier, but above Outback. So its a medium teir steak, but may be priced a little higher because of the name. BTW, nothing says loving from your lady than a Peter Luger's meat set! They ship it next day and all that on dry ice anywhere in the country I believe! It gets no better.
The Shula's is in Times Square??? Wow, impressive! At this rate, I think we may be a few years away from playing in Shula Stadium.
I live right next to the ORIGINAL here in Miami Lakes.... he also has a Shula Steak 2 which is a sports bar nearby.... it is pricey...but very good. IMO...not worth the money...if you have a grill...buy good cuts of meat and grill it yourself.....just as good...and save about 75%
I've been to Miami Lakes and Tampa, thought the Tampa location was a bit better food wise, the service was excellent at both. I'd say they were equivalent to the Ruth's Chris (only been to the one in Jax, for a Fin's road trip, it's where the team ate, too) or very close.
