http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Home_NFL.aspx You know if this turns out to be true, the Jets are in big time trouble. Jenkins could not get injured, and it is looking bad for them. While Im not glad, when Edwards was sacked you could see Pace twisting Trent's neck. That has been the most distasteful thing I have ever seen in football. He should be fined, and carma is a *****. If they thought we ran wild on them when we beat them last week. I cannot wait to see what we do if Jenkins is done
that's too bad ...he was one of the few that flat out said that miami gave the jets a dose of "shutup" ...he didn't try to badmouth henne, wildcat anything. huge loss for the jets
sucks for them. The one Jets player I have respect for. Liked him more when he was a Panther. But, good news for us when we play them again.
Cmon he talked his trash too, Im not glad for the guy, but a huge load we wont have to worry about if rumors are true.
I really hate the fact the Jenkin's got hurt. He is a good guy on a team of trash talking jerks. I hope he is okay. If he is out for the Dolphins game the rest of the jets ( aka the trash talkers ) are going to have to man up and stop the run. The didn't do it with jenkins and it's going to be significantly tougher w/o him.
a good player deserves kudos. I'll never cheer for him but I admire the play. He's a jet. I wake up in the morning hating the guy. The Jets did not cost us Cobbs by the way. HE got injured on the worst reverse I ever saw ran (don't know why it wasn't Ginn on it) and he was barely touched as he hit the sideline and busted his knee.
Why, because we can speak objectively about an opposing player? He's probably the best NT in the league. And he manned up after the game. This would be a major blow to the Jets.
He was pulled back by the back of his jersey by David Harris, I think. Anyways I was the game and in the stands and half my row was yelling for horse collar penalty. Awful freaking call by the refs, figures they almost gave the Jets the game.
Hmm, I'll check it again. I have it on my Tivo. It was an ugly reverse though. Was like watching it in Slow Mo we're so used to seeing Ginn do it
Nah there was contact. Ellis wrapped him up high around the shoulders and the way he got twisted, you could tell immediately what happened. But I agree with the premise. Unless it's a cheap shot, I wouldn't say anybody 'cost' us anything. Injuries are unfortunately part of the game. The Calvin Pace play was unnecessary. I was not surprised to see him be the one twisting Edwards. He's played in two games and he's gotten notice for everything except good play. Guy is a total front runner. We seriously lucked out by not signing him.
Cobbs has executed it nicely, but the Jets red it well and I think we whiffed a block. Anyways the reason I say the Jets had it coming is cause everytime I have seen them play this season they are trying to hurt a player. I know it is done across the league, but they do it and act proud about it. Today when Pace sacked Edwards he tried snapping his neck like they do in the movies. The announcers were saying they thought TO had been poked the eye by Revis. This is the NFL not the WWE. On top of all that they are such sour losers. Sanchez saying I gave them the game, no dick head they beat you. Ryan I was gonna pull him, dude how are you gonna throw your rookie QB under the bus like that. They are the most distasteful organization in football. I hate the freaking Jets.
The dirty hit was the Carolina guy on the Tampa player. I'm calling it right now, he gets a one game vacation from the league.
BTW I know he is a great NT and I said I was nto glad. All Im saying is they love taking cheap shots and play trying to injured opposing players. Carma is a *****, there best player got injured. Sucks for them and it sucks for him, but Im not losing any sleep about it. J E T S Suck Suck Suck !
Dude, deserves a one game suspension as well. You could clearly see Edwards going down and this fool is trying to snap his neck with his hands. Im mean it was like he trying to kill the kid. I hate the Bills, but you dont do that.
Why? Because we actually have respect for a great player? The only player who isn't a douche on the Jets. Get over it.
Jenkins is pretty much the only one who took the loss like a man. It's unfortunate he had to be the key injury.
Playing ball, I have respect for anybody who laces up the cleats. I may not likem, but I respect'em like a man, straight up.
One game maybe, but I think it needs to be a multi game suspension. He made that hit, and then practically skipped off the field, you could tell there was no remorse there. And then rather than take it, he was flipping out on the sidelines while they were reviewing it. No idea who that was, but he needs a reality check that this is the real world NFL, not that old arcade game NFL Blitz. As ticky tack as they get with penalties for unnecessary roughness, this was the kind of thing they need to prevent to keep the game professional. Sorry to pull this off topic... but that hit REALLY pissed me off. As for Jenkins, that sucks. The guy is a great Athlete and really doesn't fit the Jets players d-bag, trash talking mentality from what I've seen. But on the bright side it means Ricky and Ronnie are going to do more damage this time around. Good for us, bad for Jenkins and the Jets.
When you've got a loudmouth clown like Scott taking out the opposing QB on a cheap shot, and adding insult to injury, without any penalty called - getting your best defender shelved for the season is just Karma being her own characteristically b^tchy self. Don't cry for me Argentina!
The Panthers player hits was only bad in one respect. He hit a guy who was defenseless. HOW he actually hit the guy was clean. He led with his shoulder and hit the guy in the chest. He didn't spear/lead with his head. He didn't hit the returner in the head. He didn't cuts his knees. He didn't try to intentionally hurt the player. Twisting someone's kneck while they are falling to the ground ( aka Pace ) is intentionally trying to hurt someone. And at no point was he 'skipping' off the field. You see him actually go after the ball. He wasn't gloating or taunting after the hit.: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cAyhCTaz2Y"]YouTube - Dante Wesley Jacks Up Clifton Smith..Dirty Hit..Panthers vs.Buccaneers Brawl[/ame] I get why people are upset, but let's be fair about it. You see the same thing happen in college football as well. I don't think he was 'taking a shot' so to speak. I think he made a mistake.
Confirmed. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/19/jets-jenkins-out-for-season-with-knee-injury/ Things went from bad to worse in NY. He is propably the best player on that D. I respect the guy, and never wish injury to anybody, but i am glad in a sense that another ****ty thing happened to that team. I hope nothing but the best for Jenkins tho.
I wonder if he didn't have problems before yesterday. The jets got run on hard 3 weeks in a row, 2 prior to his season ending injury, it just something that doesn't happen often when you have a beast in the middle. Perhaps yesterday broke something that was already ailing the big man. Tough loss for the jets, I actually wish it would have happened to Pace instead, just because i hate his attitude and how he plays the game, and how he constantly talks how good he is and the jets D is when its' so painfully clear he's useless in the jets defense.
I don't like the Jets as much as anybody you have to hate to see someone like Jenkins fall. I respect his game even though he played for the wrong team. He should have played for Miami then he would have an even better career!!
He left his feet to launch himself at a defenseless player. That in itself is not clean. If he didn't launch himself it woulda been a cleaner hit, but still a penalty. And he couldn't celebrate, the other team got in his face.
Yea. I stated that in the first sentence of my post. BTW, So Gibril Wilson is a cheap shot artist? He 'launched' himself into defenseless receiver in the Jets game and got a penalty. I am not saying it was a clean hit overall because the player was defenseless. I am just saying he wasn't trying to intentionally hurt the punt returner. I think he should get suspended, and I DON'T want to see that type of hit ever to be clear. I guess I just look at the Pace play and that shows intent to hurt someone. The Panthers hit I don't see intent to hurt someone. I see a guy who thought the ball was going to arrive earlier, and he made a horrible mistake. But he wasn't intentionally trying to hurt the guy. But you aren't going to agree with me; that is fine. You guys keep on believing that he is worst human being on the face of the earth as he taunts the player he hurt ( which didn't happen) and then skips of the field happily ( which didn't happen ). Next you could say he 'teabagged' the injured player before he skipped off the field and then threaten to eat his children and kill his wife and grandmother. Because obviously to you guys the Panthers player is worse than Hilter himself.
What you saw from him leaving the field was different. Maybe he was hyped that he thought he hit the guy with the ball, maybe not. Maybe he was jumping and laughing that he creamed a rival division player, maybe he was just excited after the play, who knows. The thing I take issue with is it was an over the top hit, on a clearly defenseless receiver. I'm pretty sure he didn't intend to injure the guy, but he was not playing with any remorse, or sportsmanship. He pancaked the guy, laid him flag out, and then went to the sidelines and was throwing a fit as they were reviewing the play. That's not sportsmanship. If you make a mistake like that, you own up to it. That's the kind of thing I don't want to see. As for Gibril, I'm ok with him being called on that. The difference I see though in that is that the receiver had his hand touching the ball prior to the hit. If he were Randy Moss he would have reeled it in, but he's not. The hit was over the top, but the two are very different situations and can't honestly be looked at under the same light. Mistakes are going to happen, but it's how you handle them that tells a lot about your motivation and personal character. I'm going to stop talking about this because I think I've derailed the main topic enough.
