I am thinking 1 round too high, but I understand the move and am OKAY with it.

It was a bit of a desperation move. Overrpaid by 1 round is probably just about right for this type of situation.

A fifth is okay. I think that is fair for both parties to be honest. If Henne keeps playing anywhere close to how he played last night, Thigpen will be hard pressed to find any playing time here. Does anyone know what we got from them for the offensive linemen we sent them? It might end up in a wash of sorts.

if we have a career backup at QB who can come in and play well at any given time, i'll gladly give up a 5th for that.

I still think he's being saved for either the Jets rematch or the Patriots game. I think he's going to be used this year

Beats spending a two on a third stringer.

    I agree...a 6th rounder would've been more palatable. But, I'm OK with it being a 5th (I think?).

Be interesting to see how they use him, or if they use him in the Wildcat (this season).

I agree. I can see him getting some snaps once he gets acclimated with the offense. Thigpen actually looked pretty good last year running a spread in KC, so I'd have more confidence in him running special plays than White at the moment.

Tyler Thigpen is sick. Throwing him into the Wild Cat offense will make it even scarier. IIRC, he had some big plays in trick formations last year with Kansas City. And they were trying to convert him to WR this year. I mean, imagine lining up Thigpen up at WR and direct snapping to Brown. Do an end around with Thigpen, who can actually possibly throw it, too. That might be a bit too complex because of the blocking scheme, but your OL showed it could be possible on Monday night. Wish you guys didn't get Thigpen.

    It's a tremendous trade for a 5th rounder.

Excellent... would have given up as high as a third personally... I mean he's one play away from being the starter IMO. Pat White is not ready for that and I honestly think Thigpen >>> White anyway (whom we used a second rounder on but that is for another thread of course).

I broke that when it happened.

rotoworld should at least attribute that to this site.

are you kidding ... we are not going to trade Thigpen this season ... no way. 'Probably' not in the offseason either ... unless someone wow's us or PW makes significant strides.
