Not a bad article. I wonder what Ryan will do in a couple years when all the old guys are gone and they don't have draft picks to replace them.

the jets are spent? the jets spent very well recently and in a few short years we have solidified pretty much every position on the roster.

d'brick, mangold, revis, keller, harris & sanchez? is that what you mean by spent? These are very recent aquisitions to the roster via the draft.

our free agent guys like jenkins, scott, lito, pace ain't bad either.

Our future seems pretty bright to me. I've sure waited long enough but at last I'm comfortable we're gonna do good things in the coming 3 years.

hopefully chad henne works out for you, but even with him you need a few more pieces yet.

If these moves get you guys a superbowl then the moves were worth it.

If they don't you've traded away a lot of your future for 1 QB (the draft) and 1 WR (2 picks towards a loaded class + 2 players).

I think that's what he meant.

We haven't made any moves where we've sent multiple picks for players and over the long term because of that we will be the younger team.

yeah I see what he's saying. I've no doubt woody allowed the sanchez pick to help fill seats in the new stadium.

what he didn't know yet was how good the jets were gonna be. say what you want ( you'll see 1st hand tonight just how good our defense is) but we are a much better team this year with a lot of confidence.

Sanchez is by no means a definete probowler but it's lookin real good that he our future at q'back.

As far as Edwards, that move was brilliant & lucky, timing wise cause we got him so cheap. He really does change the way defenses will do business against us.

So you're right in saying we're spent, but what I'm most pleased about is that we're spent in all the right places.

On paper we're similar teams. on the field however, well, we'll see tonight.

for the 1st time in light years, I'm very confident in our 2009 team.

best of luck to all & may the best team win tonight

    Good!

It will be that much better when you realize Dirty Sanchez is a ver average QB and that Braylon Edwards can't catch a cold

you may well be right pal, & I don't expect much from either one tonight.

I'm talkin about the next couple, three years for this jets team. we have 11 more games after tonight with a bye thrown in there.

to say we're spent and the future is all miami's though, well, I wouldn't really say we're spent. how many 3rd & 5th rounders you got on your roster leading the mighty fins to all your victories

Doin' good man. Glad you made it over here.

I've got family in town (for the second freaking week in a row), so can't make the game tonight. I appreciate the offer though.

Jets have strong in their prime starters but almost Zero depth and no developemental types on the roster either....couple of years and they are going to need a large roster overhaul but they look good right now.

You think two picks towards a loaded draft class and two players for one is cheap?

Is this a joke or something ? How many other teams went from 1-15 to 11-5 in a season soft schedule or not, this really boils my blood the phins deserve credit and respect.

time will tell my friend, time will tell.

a loaded draft? 3rd & 5th round draft selections are much closer to crapshoots than anything else.

Our only real glaring need was the wr corps inability to keep defenses from crowding the box. I think Having braylon Edwards now is far better than stuckey, a 3rd & 5th rounder and a special teams player who will easily be replaced.

Jets made a very smart decision in trading for Edwards imo.

Actually, I would call Edwards the ultimate crap shoot.
He has had 1 decent year and the rest not worth a ****, AND he has a really sh***y attitude.
IF he pans out, well then sure its a good trade. Aside from Moss going to the Patsies, this type of trade for a prima donna WR has a really really bad track-record.

I still think Sanchez will prove that trading away the draft was not worth it.
I do like Shonn Greene, but of course that pick cost you the rest of last years draft.
Obviously, so far thisd season, you have been more succeseful, but I would definately say that your window of opportunity is much much smaller than ours

yer right, Edwards is not an automatic upgrade but I gotta tell ya, I really like his chances of succeeding on this jets squad. time will tell as it will for sanchez.

at 3-1, Sanchez is lookin like a solid pick though. I think tonight will be very telling as you guys have a formidable defense.

It really is way to early to tell but I'm happy Edwards is starting over chansi stuckey & that sanchez is starting over clemens

You're team isn't old in "age"......it's old in future cap money available and lack of draft picks.

    And lack of depth.
Of course they do have that youngster V-Ghoulston in the background.

Seriously, one signifigant injury and they are SERIOUSLY screwed.

    And you have depth where?

Ricky and Ronnie are not exactly youngsters.

Porter and Taylor are the wrong side of 30

Sparano may be quiet in the media, but if he wins the this game like the broncos beat the pats yesterday, hes good for some Josh Mcdaniels fists pumps in front of the crowd.

Ronnies fine 27 with no 300+ carry years Cam wake is there for one side at OLB...we have a ****load of youth everywhere Merling Langford Solia Dotson Wake Moses Torbor Davis Smith Long Thomas Ginn Bess Turner Hartline Henne all VERY young and in prominent Roles right now... you cant be young everywhere but we have a lot of upside developemental types ant nearly every position.. not seeing that on your squad...who replaces Jenkins faneca Woody Richardson Ellis Douglas...those are all guys you have garbage behind and all old.

Safety and OLB are the ONLY spot we have any age showing at all.. and we have a couple of developemental guys that have shown some flashes behind them.

Dolphins are 3 deep at NT 4 Deep at DE 3 Deep at OLB 4 deep at corner..

Jets 1 Deep at NT 2 Deep at DE 2 deep at OLB.. you guys look paper thin to me at just about every spot...jmo.

Don't know... but to be fair he mentioned Sanchez and Edwards. Those two guys cost the Jets a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th. If they click and things work out great moves by the Jets. If they don't you are going to have very little to show for your 09 and possiibly your 2010 draft. Don't forget the Jets traded a condictional 2nd, 3rd or 4th for Lito Sheppard.

That means the Jets could be giving up there 2nd, 3rd and 5th round picks in 2010.
