why do people make such a big deal about what sex they are attracted to?!? i think each side needs to get over it. i dont give a damn who you have sex with, i dont expect you to give a damn who i have sex with. i dont understand why liking men instead of women or women instead of men DEFINES a person so much?!
You might not expect it, but the discrimination is there. It is getting better, and that is why I referenced the evangelical's epiphany.
His story is interesting. Any person should have equal rights under civil law. Each faith group should be allowed to model their practices according to their sacred texts and traditions. If such beliefs do not sit well in the place of public opinion a faith group will have to accept that. A reverse bigotry towards them is not helpful either.
With all due respect, I don't think it's reverse bigotry to think that God holds the highest model of circumspect analysis versus interpretations of (translated) sacred texts and traditions. The only reason why I posted this is because of the epiphany of the continuation of judgment. I am aware that some will perceive the author's intent as projection and/or latent sensibilities. I didn't read it that way.
because national outlets put so much attention on straight people. every match.com commercial or eharmony.com commercial you see always shows a man and a woman getting together. straight people "don't care" because the same stigma doesn't apply to them. it might not apply to you (as in 'you might not care what they do in their spare time'), but on a national level it's kind of unspoken that the taboo is still M/M or F/F. Or bi-curious. Or whatever that isn't straight. that's how i look at it anyway. as to the original article good for him.
