As much as Pace was the Jets' sack leader last year................is getting a paltry 7 sacks really saying that much? I mean that's less than 0.5 per game isn't it?
Right... now add Rex's Defense, plus some tasty young QBs in the next 4 games (Henne, Edwards, Russel, Henne) and he could be looking at 7 there alone. BZ
We have it... opening in 2010... just got my tickets for next year. Can't wait! (It also won't be half-named after some ****ty beer..) Riiiiiiiiight... because the Dolphins have so much luck with head coaches in the last few years... Saban? Cameron? Anyone? BZ
That may well be true...but it also could be he could be looking at a goose egg. How effective Pace will be against the Fins is all speculation until Monday night. Practicing is one thing, live game is another. He might have to shake off some rust before he even begins to catch his stride.
We didin't come up with a lame name, and crown him? Some of us didin't like Saban to begin with, and Cam is Cam. Difference is, we knew they sucked.
I tried mentioning this to Jet fans on another site. When you consider how much they paid for him, and his 4 game PED suspension, he has to be a disappointment. We got Cam Wake for a fraction of the price this year and he's looking damn solid.
Hate to be the slap of reality to ya bro, but that "pretty bad" Bills defense held Brees more in check than your "D-Rex" defense did. What now? No, it'll be named after some ****ty team. Oh and let us know when the Jets finally get a stadium in the same STATE they're from, okay? Unless of course the Dolphins build themselves a new stadium in Georgia.
Like i said, iam not gonna talk smack this week, because our team has something to prove to us before i can... This is just a little somethin somethin i thought my fellow brothers and sisters wouldlike to hear about. Heard robert Mathis from the colts in an interview talk about how, after we put a beatin on them, that they had to have a meeting to get things strait... he said he couldnt believe how they got dominated by the dolphins... He said and i quote " they didnt feel like they should of won that game". Remember our team going thru the same secondary mental issues last year...we eventually got it figured out... If we can correct them like we did last year after arizona...then if i was a Jet fan, i might take notice of that, because i will tell you this, if we do get on the same page as a secodary, our size, athleticism, and physicality is expodentially better then last year.. Cannot wait to see our bad *** rookie corners matchup with jet receivers all game.
Agreed. He will have some rust, but a rusty Pace is better than a polished Gholston! Oh please. I was here (FH) when you signed both and remember thread after thread of stroking them both off. Finally a "winning" coach and the "offensive genius" it is ok, we all do it. That is what makes us fans. Bills: 16/29 - 172 Jets: 20/32 - 190 Agreed, Bills did a little better, but not much. They also sacked Henne, what 6 times? That is going to be interesting. BZ
considering the jets got gashed against the run last week.....and the dolphins are the #1 rushing offense in the league.....you'd think jet fans would be a little worried. but then i remember......they are jet fans
True... your defense stood up and made some big plays... you were also playing the Jills. You know the team leading by 11 pts in the 4th quarter against the Patriots and let them win? Gashed? How is holding their RB to under 90 yards gashed? Yes, you guys can run the ball, but I think it is a one trick pony. It would be great if you came out, got big leads and could run out the game, but that isn't the case. With Chad1 at least you could move the ball, but with Chad2, I am guessing he is going to have trouble finding open receivers and the run game will stall. If the Jets sack Henne 6 times in this game, he either leaves on a stretcher or the game is a huge Jets blowout. BZ
tough to talk tough this game but i like our chances. we know henne plays within himself but it seems the wheels are coming off a bit for sanchez. the smart thinbg would be for the jets to play a ball control run heavy game and let special teams and field position decide the game but schottenheimer thinks he's a whiz kid so he'll probably try to attack us vertically which will give our secondary opportunities for picks. hopefully we keep Keller in check and leon washington. i agree with the posters who think this game will be decided by the defenses and QBs who make less mistakes. However, the one thing that I'm not convinced of is whether the Jets can shut down our running game. I dont think they win if they contain our running game. I think they have to shut it down. the reason for that is if they just contain our running game we will win the field position battle
Okay let me get this straight...you dismiss the Bills, yet they scored 24 points against the Patriots in NE and you scored 19 against them at home. Then you say if the Jets sack Henne 6 times it's a huge Jets blowout, when your offense can't get out of it's own way lately. Either that or he leaves on a stretcher...somehow insinuating that the big bad Jets defenders are FAR more violent and dangerous than anyone on the Bills. Interesting. The Kool Aid in Jetsland must be extra tasty this year!
You have ALOT of balls to make this remark, After Dolphin fans turned GIANTS stadium into Dolphin Stadium North in the biggest game of the year last year. Stop worrying about Henne. Worry about our run offense running up 250 yards plus on that paper defense you got.
3 sacks and 1 FF already. Yeah you weigh the two acquisitions and none but the most blind Jets fan ought to see we got the better bargain; at least up to this point. For all of Pace's "potential" he has yet to live up to all of those expectations. When he went to NY from AZ all the talk was how he hadn't been used properly. But Mangini knew how to utilize his skills........oops. Now it's Oh well Ryan knows how to utilize him. I guess we'll see. But if I were a Jets fan I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.
And further more...Jet fans can never...EVER comment on anything Stadium or name related. I mean, are you serious??? They are the most embarrassing joke of all time for playing in GIANTS STADIUM for a quarter century!!! Hang your head in shame, until you move to "whatever stupid bank shells out the dough", stadium. At least we play in a stadium sponsored by BEER.
and Pace was owned by Jake Long in both games last year, and he is mentally soft, afterall he didnt want to come here because he was afraid of being a leader. Mangenious has a better ring to it than "Arrogant Fat ****"
The Jets could trade for Jerry Rice at the top of his game and it would still make no difference on Monday, or the difference may be bad for the Jets. Receivers and quarterbacks need to get the routes and the timing down before they can hook up consistently. That's why they have quarterback schools and training camp, and why the defense is always ahead of the offense in the early preseason games. Factor in a rookie quarterback and a good pass rush and what you have is a receiver with whom Sanchez was familiar gone and one with whom he has no timing coming in. This is typical Noo Yawk Jests get-rich-quick, trade-and-sign-free-agents your way to a title rather than developing players they draft. It will be very interesting to see what happens on Monday. If we can run on their defense they are going to have a very difficult time with us.
Dolphins fans know that the only team you guys have beaten is the Buffalo Jills right... meanwhile the jets have beaten 3 very good teams and lost to possibly the best team in football... even with that loss the didn't let one of the best offenses ever score until a 1 yard run in the 4th quarter... the fins wont be able to put anything up on the jets d, especially w/ pace in there which allows rex to create even more blitzes that haven't been seen on film... good luck on monday but this will be a blowout!!!
I think you're underestimating the Dolphins. I'll bet your coach isn't. So..if things don't work out the way you want them to will you come back and give credit where credit is due? Or is this just a drive by?
they beat a 8-8 team, 11-5 team, and 13-3 team, meanwhile the dolphins lost to 3 teams with similar records and your only win was against a sub .500 team that is awful... you guys will find out soon enough that the jets run d is much better than the bills and their secondary is one of the tops in the league... if the bills sacked hene 6 times the jets will make it 12... he will need a body bag to leave this field
sure... if the jets lose than i was wrong and they are the same old jets... the fins would only be one back of us and you guys would have every right to run your mouths but i dont understand why the fans and players of the fins are talking now... they are 1-3... if the fish win on monday then they have every right to talk but right now only the jets have earned that right.
Those were their records LAST year. Houston..come on. The Patriots were a good win, but it's obvious they're not the same dominating team that they have been in years past. The Titans....That team is some kind of terrible this year and you guys beat them by 7 points.
so what do you propose we do use this years records... we beat a 0-0 team, a 1-0 team, and a 0-2 team... now that doesn't seem to make much sense does it? obviously we would use last years records if we are talking about the first 4 weeks of the season... after the first quarter of the season you can start using this years records.
Don't use records? It's obvious the Titans are no longer an 11-3 team so why even use that? Their defense is abysmal and Chris Johnson is their only threat on an anemic offense. The Patriots were a solid win, the Bills also almost beat them. The best team you guys faced, the Saints, made your offense look pathetic and their offense still beat your "all world" defense. Your little cute blitzes will be fine until Ronnie and Ricky smash all of them in the face repeatedly.
Last I checked we are still the division champs. Until you beat us you have nothing to brag about. The road goes through Miami.
