To call him classy is an understatement http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sfl-chadqa093009,0,3287382.story?track=rss
Chad Pennington is the ****ing man. They should snap a picture of him, and put it in the dictionary as "professional" God bless the guy. Seriously.
I watched his presser on aquavision. It was sad to me. He seemed to be having a hard time talking at first. I just hate that this injury could end his career. He really is a good guy. I'll miss him.
I like this post for two reasons. 1) chad p is a very classy guy, and I'm glad to have him in the organization. 2) there were a decent number of fans who expected henne to come in as a back up and light the world on fire. Chad's comments reinforce what other posters were saying about how it's hard for that to happen because of the lack of reps and etc. Posted via Mobile Device
What really sucks is that he tried so hard to prevent this from happening. Good luck to Chad with whatever happens next in his career
What hurts the most is you see the guy's poise and determination. If you have video of the IND game, watch it again. Everytime they show Pennington, he looks so focused, never smiling, all business - the guy was pissed. He just wanted to answer his critics. To me, he has nothing more ot prove. I thank him for what he did last year, and the impression he as put on our younger QBs. Hopefully, he likes S. Florida enough to stick around as an assistant coach if he can't find a team next year.
Very classy guy and could have been an elite QB in the league but some players are just injury prone and he is one of them. 3 surgeries on that one shoulder? Time to call it a day, become a QB coach or something. That being said, he could be 2010 NFL Comeback PLayer of the Year.. since that is his MO. BZ
Something tells me he isn't done, he'll attempt a comeback with someone. Whether that's a wise move, I don't know, but he seems like the type of player that will have to be dragged kicking and screaming from the field, just very determined and competitive.
If Pennington decides to play elsewhere next season (I think he'll be able to return in 2010), I'll be rooting for him. He's a great guy to have on our squad and I'd love for him to come back as a coach.
