With Pennington out we need a third QB on our roster. What's the chatter? Who might we bring in? Who do you like and who do you think is likely? (You can choose more than one of the above listed candidates.)

Do you mean trade? Most of those QB's are on a team.

I'd rather see Henne get the starts, for better or for worse. If by week 11 he's not shown some promise, start Pat White. That's 7 games for Henne and 6 for White, assuming Henne isn't the answer. At least at that point we'll know what we have in these QBs and if it needs to be addressed or if we're set. Bringing in a veteran QB to start over Henne makes no sense. We're not in win now mode. If we don't use this season to figure out Henne and/or White we will regret it.

Only Garcia, Young, and Anderson are currently on a 53 man roster and Garcia might not be for much longer once McNabb returns. Woodson, Brohm, Daniel, Booty, and Carpenter could all be poached off the practice squad as long as we sign them to our 53 man roster. The rest are free agents.

I'm not saying we should bring in a guy to start over Henne. He's our new starting QB and its about time if you ask me. However we do need a 3rd string QB. BTW Many of the guys I listed aren't veterans.

No way in hell I'd trade a pick for a backup QB right now. I'd sign Frerotte off the street and be done with it.

Time to see if Henne has what it takes.

The only guys on that list we would have to trade for would be Young and Anderson. No way I'd do that either but I thought I'd include them as an option because some fans have already mentioned them. Frerotte would be fine by me.

Its not the way I would have liked for it to happen but I'm glad that Henne will get the nod. Henne is the future and the future is now.

I don't think so. Every other team in the league has three quarterbacks. We'll sign an insurance policy. However I don't believe we will pay a hefty price which means a trade is unlikely but not totally out of the realm of possibility.

Huard is 36 and Frerotte is 38. One of them seems likely. My darkhorse candidate is Andrew Walter who just spent some time with the Patriots.

Drew Bledsoe but that is only because Vinny Testaverde has qualified for social security. If it were not for social security, I would have said Vinny Testaverde.

I think we should keep the two we have and CP on the bench to help with coaching them up. Untill we get another injury we don't need another QB. Last thing I want to see now is a Vet to come in and play mop up duty.

Your post doesn't make sense. We will have three QBs. Everyone does. I don't think anyone is suggesting that another QB comes in and starts. I believe the point of this thread is which QB will we sign. I think the thread starter assumed everyone on here had some understanding of what just happened with Chad going down and the fact that we have to SIGN A QB. :knucks:

I agree with you BK. In fact, I actually wanted us to draft Brohm over Henne. And, Daniel might've been the best QB the Redskins had this past preseason. Either might make for an interesting pick up.

My guess is they will start trying guys out soon. Hey, wouldn't it be somethin' if we just kinda got lucky and ended up plucking a guy off the street that ends up being a good/great player for us for years to come?

There is no rule that you have to have 3 QBs, so why bother signing another, also not everyone has 3 QBs, there have been teams to carry two, actually Pittsburgh did it a few years ago and so did the Pats. Remember Troy Brown playing QB?

What if Henne gets hurt. What do we do then? Maybe Ted Ginn can be the backup then. He played in high school. Are you kidding me? Your not going to bring someone in to learn the plays and get some practice? Pat White is not ready to play QB full time yet. Teams keep three QBs like you keep car insurance.

Pat White is more prepared than some guy on the street. Sorry don't tell me a guy who comes in thursday or whenever is going to be more prepared than Pat White and to be honest, we could go Wildcat with Ronnie. I am not saying its realistic but I also don't think we need to rush out and grab a QB, people have gone with just two QBs before and that is all I am saying.

Personally if Henne went down I would rather see White than Garcia or whoever play.

Ummmmmmmmmm, wouldn't you want someone learning what is going on the whole time this is happening? Would you rather wait until Henne gets hurt and then go "oh sh!t"?

Its silly to argue this. We will have three QBs. It is obvious. That is why the guy started this thread. That is what the front office has been working on all day. That is why nobody else is chiming in on this. It is OBVIOUS.:knucks::up:

The answer is "Other" and I believe Tyler Thigpen is a way better option than any of those guys. Love the trade by the front office. Thigpen could backup Henne for years to come.
