Bear with me, I'm bored at work and was just thinking about our now in question QB position. Would Vince Young be a good fit? He ran a read and react offense at Texas pretty successfully and had good arm strength and accuracy...is he basically the same player as Pat White?
Oh boy ... here we go ... I'd rather give Henne a couple weeks, at least, to get his feet wet, before we start looking to trade for another player to possible unseat him. Seems to be the very definition of "knee jerk"
I guarantee Young gets his chance with the Titans very soon. But as for Young here, no chance of happening. Henne will now work with the first team for the rest of the season and we will see how he does. Also kind of interesting, White will now get more reps in practice with the first team.
Jesus tap-dancing Christ. I can understand if you don't like Chad Henne. I can understand if you were underwhelmed with his performance Sunday. I can even understand the desire to bring in a veteran QB (Jeff Garcia, anyone?) but Vince Young? Seriously? Do you hate this team that much?
Guys, lets give Henne a chance to prove himself before we drive over him with the Dolphin fan team bus.
Give henne a shot, i think this is a decent week for him to get his first start. The bills are a solid team but i think henne could surprise some people here and lead us to our first W.
The only option i could think of trying to save this season is to bring a veteran Qb ,The only one thats come up is Garcia has he signed anywere ? Not that he has anyone good to throw to
Let's give CH a chance to work with the first team and see what happens, as far as Young goes OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The only case for Vince Young would be if he were a better runner or at least close to as good of a runner as Ronnie Brown. I can't see that being the case. Even with the greater threat of the pass (Young can play in a scripted offense and improvise) I still say Ronnie would have greater performance. Over Pat White? Yes.
Garcia did sign with the Eagles but rumors are with Kolb's solid play, Vick being re-instated and McNabb soon back from injury that Garcia will be the odd man out and will find himself cut by the end of next week. That could put us in the running to claim him off waivers or sign him as a FA. If you ask me though, this is the worst case scenario as it means we're not going to give Henne the keys to the offense. If that's true he either a) isn't the player the coaches thought he was or b) simply isn't ready yet. If it's a, we're in trouble. If it's b, I'd still rather him get his time in, in real game situations, in a season where we're not really playing for anything.
Like New Orleans would let him go for anything less than 2 1sts, the friggin moon, and a whatachickensandwich
I wasn't suggesting it to replace Henne guys, wow. I'm saying we are down a vet QB right now. With Penny out we only have 2 QB's, which means we are probably going to pick up one more. I was just thinking that pulling Vince in gives us a nice option for the Wild Cat without pushing in Pat White if he's not ready.
With all due respect brother, Vince does not fit the "vet" mold. Hell, he can't even with the starting job against the guy is twice as old as he is!
