They're still technically not eliminated from the playoffs, but either way, is the lack of infield dirt gonna help Ginn catch a pass?

The point is that having an infield or not having an infield won't affect the outcome of the games. I'm sick of people making little ***** excuses about the infield dirt and how our kickers have to kick off of it and blah blah blah. It is what it is, and if it was up to me, the infield would still be there in late October with the Marlins playing in the World Series.

Nothing. Just used him as an example as to how the dirt is irrelevant when the Dolphins play on it.

Why are you using him as an example in the first place.......you say people ***** about it but this thread wasn't for that, I simply asked that question to know weather they were or not. Thanks for answering me but you didn't need to add all that extra **** to start anything....If you are tired of people *****ing about it make a thread about it....

I don't waste time making pointless threads. All I meant to say is that having it removed won't make anyone (be it Ginn, Henne, or Ronnie Brown) play better or worse.

Funny thing is that historically the Dolphins start off good in September and start to fizzle out in December when the dirt is long gone.

You mean like when Brian Griese suffered ligament damage stepping on a part of the field that bordered on grass/infield? He missed 7 weeks. I want to say Ed Perry tore and ACL on it as well. Those are just off the top of my head.

Dude, that **** is like gravel. I've been on it pregame. It's like playing in the street. That's why you see guys with with bloody forearms and elbows. They don't like it.

It does affect things because it's difficult to gain traction. You can't wear regular cleats.

And how about when it rains? They shouldn't have to play in MUD.

Those injuries would have likely still occured on grass, but since it happened on the dirt people will automatically assume that was the cause of it. Teams played on dirt all the time back in the days of multi-purpose stadiums and didn't ***** because of little cuts and bruises. It is what it is until 2012, but I won't be rooting against the Marlins just to have the dirt removed quicker.

It's not the same as walking on grass. I've been on it. It's like gravel. I could not believe they were about to play on it.

It's not the same infield dirt that the Marlins teams play on. That gets removed. The stuff underneath that is what the Dolphins play on. The footing is not as good. So we can't say the injury risks are the same as grass.

Griese's injury occurred specifically because the surface was uneven and changed under his foot. I heard a former offensive lineman say it was awful. The worst surface he ever played on. Mike Shannahan remarked prior to one game that it was the worst field he ever saw (I think it rained and a game had been played recently on it).

    I can't wait until it's gone.
