    My notes from the game:

Started watching in the 2nd quarter due to my entire family being complete *******s.

The crowd looked feroscious. So jealous I couldn't make it to the game, but I can't attend night games. It was on fire. Didnt listen with volume too much, but you could just tell. I had never seen a Fins game this packed with Fins fans. Hopefully, same thing happens against the Bills and Jets, with Fins fans though.

Wildcat was rolling. Felt like they ran it a little bit too much at times, but if they cant stop it, keep running it. Using the same logic, if you go into a game, and the other team is stopping it, stop using it.

Passing game looked great. Sooooo many 3rd down conversions. Every touch by Polite, I called it, and every sweet pass down the middle by Pennington was awesome. Pennington showed great zip on the ball at times.

Ronnie was on fire as well, not only in the wildcat, you could really see him run for the extra yard or two. And what I like about our players is that if they know they're going down, they go down low, and dive for an extra yard or two. ALWAYS helps

Receivers did a great job catching everything their way. The Ginn play wasn't his fault. Gotta give him credit for getting up really high and giving it his all. The defender had great coverage but you could see him pull Ginn down. Should've been called pass intereference.

The 3 minute drill was horrible. No excuse for 2 plays costing us an entire minute and a TO. And that time out was as the play clock ran out.

No excuse for doing a QB sneak with under 2 minutes left just to get the 1st down.
Cant blame them for calling the TO when the Colts player went down since you have to call it right away.

Rush defense looked tremendous. So did pass defense. Both sides struggled in the part that if a Colt was running free inside the 50, they would give up.

    But listen to me here:
Last week, the defense played outstanding and the offense played horrendous. The offense's mistakes were corrected completely in a matter of a week. The defense wasn't horrible. But these same mistakes will be fixed by next game. Dont forget that last year, its not that we started 0-2, but after being 2-2, we went on to lose the next 2 games to get to 2-4. Different schedule, but we won't be 2-4 this season.

Last week, I posted a thread called "Feel Good Loss". This was the most painful Dolphins loss ever for me. I really thought we were going to pull it through. But you know what? ONE play goes different(offense or defense), and we have Penny for MVP, Sparano for HOY. etc. The game was a lot like the Miami-FSU game in that perspective. One play changed how everyone analyzed that game and both teams. Im a UM fan, so I went to sleep very satisfied and very pumped up about the next day, but now I know how FSU fans felt. That feeling of hopelessness, that feeling of ...............(complete the sentence).

I was supossed to study after the game, and I just couldnt. I went to sleep and just couldn't. I had a few tests today, and I just couldn't concentrate.

I dont ever want to go to bed feeling like that again.

    Peace

This reminded me of the Marino years. Watching the offense do everything needed to win, and then watching the defense just throw the game away.

Hurt, vulnerable and fragile? Feeling like she just uses you for your body, without a care about your wants and needs?

Wait, what are we talking about again?

Regardless of how long it took them to do it....just how shocked should we be that Manning put up 27 points against this defense?

We play a lot of good offenses this year that will require us to score more than 23 points to beat them......next weekend against the Chargers will be another.

There is no regardless of how long it took them to do it. That is a huge part of it. That is the biggest part of it.

What Miami did was good enough to win every other time it happened in the NFL. EVERY OTHER TIME!!

This is the first time in NFL HISTORY that a team had the ball under 15 minutes and won.

So am I surprised that Manning was able to put up 27 points on this defense with under 15 minutes without any turnovers or big special teams play?

    Yes I am.

    That's it!
That is exactly what last night felt like. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but man, our defense was just horrible last night.

Couldn't get consistant pressure on the QB.
    Couldn't cover anyone.
    Couldn't tackle anyone.
It'll be a long season if that trend continues.

The scoreboard counts points......not time of possession.

Wanna win games against high powered offenses? Score more points, it's pretty simple.

generally 23 points with 45 minutes of possession has caused teams to win 100% of the time, until yesterday.

Generally those teams didn't have Chadley Checkdown at QB or a defense that looked so inviting to the opposing QB.

23 points scored in 45 minutes is a much bigger problem than giving up 27 to Manning on a few big plays.

I honestly do not agree with at all.

It is a much bigger problem letting up 27 points to Manning on a few big plays. Much, much, much bigger problem.

23 points scored in 45 minutes will win you every game. Well it would have before Miami's defense screwed up.

The 27 points in 15 minutes is Detroit bad.

I have not lost sleep over a Dolphins game since the great NFL Monday night comeback by the Jets, and it was already past 1 a.m. Perhaps it was the 1-15 season which taught me humility, or just maturity of knowing what I do and do not have control over. I was ticked beyond reasonable means last night, but went to sleep.
I understand though. Go Fins :hi5:
