Psshaw...Figurs had the same year Ted Ginn had, both seasons, but he had a bum foot last season...dude was the pbowl KR in 07.

A guy I like was cut by Seattle, Devin Moore from WY, 4.3 guy who has a good all around game, to me he would be worth bringing in at least..

I say give everyone we bring in 150 passes from a JUGS station at 50yds, 2 drops and they are told thanks for their time...

Ikegwuono is a good prospect, this is year one after shredding his knee at the Combine along with a BS trial where he was acquitted but it still was an issue.

The Chiefs released SS Bernard Pollard(of Tom Brady injury fame), thats seems like a bit of a shocker to me. Had 98 total tackles last year, should be a good pick up for a team in need of youth and experience at SS.

Yep, Raiders beat us to the punch. I also noticed James Marten, former of Boston College and a Parcells/Ireland project in Dallas was released (I think by Oakland). Could be worth keeping an eye on considering only 1 of our backup O-linemen has played a regular season snap.

Agreed!! I also wouldn't mind keeping 4 QB's this year and picking up Brohm so we don't have to draft a QB next year to fill our 3rd spot.

I liked Graham Gano too. Oh well.

I completely agree about Moore. The WC was responsible for us making the playoffs last year.....so maybe something like better field position or a return TD makes of breaks this year. That's worth a spot IMO. ?????

How about Scheunug? Does he fit into our smash mouth scheme?

But why cut Hilliard and replace him with Jehuu? Hilliard has been here two years, and knows the playbook better than he does. Hell, he had one carry the entire preseason. There is no way he is better than Hilliard.

    Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    OT Anthony Alabi

    DE Jarriett Buie
    S Steve Cargile
    WR Patrick Carter
    FB Jameel Cook
    DT Rashaad Duncan
    WR Cortez Hankton
    DE Louis Holmes
    WR Kareem Huggins
    CB Darrell Hunter
    OT James Lee
    WR Marcus Maxwell
    TE Jason Pociask
    TE Ryan Purvis
    LB Bo Ruud
    WR Mario Urrutia
    S Donte' Nicholson

    Carolina Panthers
    OL Justin Geisinger
    S Kevin Kaesviharn
    WR Larry Beavers
    RB DeCori Birmingham
    DL Casper Brinkley
    OL Patrick Brown
    QB Hunter Cantwell
    WR Jason Chery
    S Paul Chara
    DB D.J. Clark

    DT Marlon Favorite
    DB Joe Fields
    OL Keith Gray
    LB Anthony Heygood
    DT George Hypolite
    RB Jamall Lee
    LB Mortty Ivy
    LB Jeremy Leman

    WR Kevin McMahan
    WR Marcus Monk
    OL Jonathan Palmer
    LB Kelvin Smith

    Jacksonville Jaguars
    FS Marlon McCree
    RB Chauncey Washington
    P Steve Weatherford
    CB Brian Williams
    LB Thomas Williams
    LB Johnny Williams

    WR Tiquan Underwood
    QB Todd Boeckman
    DE Jeremy Navarre
    WR Todd Peterson
    RB Alvin Pearman
    TE Richard Angulo
    LS Joe Zelenka
    SS Michael Desormeaux
    RB Josh Vaughan
    FB Brock Bolen
    LB Tim Shaw
    CB Pete Ittersagen
    C Cecil Newton
    OG Cameron Stephenson
    OT Tony Pashos

From the Saints Arrington could be an interesting pickup because of his connection to Henne. Duckworth would also be worth a look.

From the Buccaneers nobody jumps out at me. Nobody in a position of need anyway.

From the Panthers I always felt Favorite could develop into a potential nose tackle. I would love it if we brought him in. Ivy or Leman might add some depth to inside linebacker. However I don't know if either is any good on special teams.

From the Jaguars Johnny or Thomas Williams (no relation) might also add depth to inside linebacker. Newton, Stephenson, or Pashos would add depth to our o-line.

One of the most intriguing cuts to me was A.Q. Shipley who was released by the Steelers. He was their 7th round pick. I will bet you anything they are hoping to add him to their practice squad. I would love to snag him and would consider him an extra draft pick for us.

if we weren't loaded at the position, I think Demario Pressley could make for a better 3-4 DE than 4-3 DT.

I also like Shipley at the college level, but he has TRex arms. LOL

Why not Jehuu is a better athlete and runner than Hilliard. Hilliard is the 4th RB o this team I don't see why not.

Scratch that I think I'd rather have P.J. Hill.

Because he hasn't proven that he is a better runner than Hilliard. There is a reason Hilliard isn't a FA, while Jehuu is.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with P.J Hill. Is he the former Badger? The one that was arrested for DUI, then fleeing from the police?

Wow Colts cut C Steve Justice and DT Terrance Taylor.

Packers cut JAMON MEREDITH WOW. I'ma ctually pretty surprised at some of these cuts.

Mitch King DT from Iowa cut from the Titans.

Tom Brady killer Bernard Pollard was cut from the Chiefs.

Btw Patriots put Crable on IR.

I could go on with these cuts I'm pretty surprised.

We should pick up Zach, sign him to a one day contract, have him retire, and stick him on the coaching staff watching film and making adjustments.

Alen, you were right about Lydon Murtha:

The lions are all over the place, they cut, and reclaimed, Lydon Murtha...bizarre.

That's disappointing. We could have used him as depth.

Thanks for the information padre. You've done an awesome job keeping us up to date on everything since training camp man. Definitely appreciated.

Thanks Alen, this time of year is sort of my favorite, when the draft rolls around opinions are preformed and a guy goes in "6th rd, 25th pick"

But now is when GM's and Scouts earn their pay imho, players this time of year have already been looked at and rejected or passed over, it takes a much higher level of skill to pick players that can contribute this season, right now.

As Sparano said, last year the Candy Store was open, this year we are #25, Irish and Gaine and the Scouting Dept have to wait in line behind 25 teams before we can land anyone.

As for Murtha, he was on my Draft Board, Figurs was the Returner we needed and put a claim on, but we are just to far behind the power curve this year.

Instead we have Julius Pruitt from the Gulf Coast Conference....two teams looked at him, the rams and KC, but he never even received a camp invite...now that is looking for the needle in the haystack.

Maybe they realized that there was nothing out there for them to improve on Murtha so they re-signed him and are going to try to develop him? Or maybe they cut him, he went through the waiver wire so that enabled them to put him on the PS, where they originally hoped?

    I don't know, its a goofy situation.

    Sure...in baseball...

Detroit is beginning to do what Sparano and Ireland did last preseason, but they are doing it much much to late in the cycle, we had two Mini Camps last season, and still had OTA's, we cycled through a gang of players.

That is how we found D Bess, Detroit is putting claims in on players they believe other teams will trade for, which basically means their 53 man roster is total garbage because as they add trade bait, they have to cut players.

If that was the case, I would have either waited to cut him, or simply signed him to the PS. But that's just me. We're talking about Detroit.

On a day where Al Davis gives away a first round pick for an aging DT, the Lions still find a way to give me a "WTF" moment.
