Hey folks ... I just got word I'm going to be performing in a concert version of "Guys and Dolls" in August. We're bringing in Eddie Mekka from "Laverne and Shirley" to play Nathan Detroit, but the rest of the cast is local. woot!!! Arvide eh.. I played him, great song too. The director of the Lyric Theater here in Stuart is John Lessor, son of the playwright. They did a kids version some years ago and Johns daughter auditioned for Big Jule.. in Top hat and cane, all of 7 years old she tore down the house. Anyway, it is a great show and I know you will have a good time. The pisser for me was I am to old to play the lead and Lord knows I want to sing Luck be a Lady on stage. During auditions I sang that song and our director looked over at Jarrod and told him it's a good thing you are young and pretty otherwise Marty would have taken your role right here. with a sheeps eye, and a licorice tooth.. break a leg brother, this ones fun!

Nice Steve, good commercial! I know you will have a good time, the show is a blast and you get one of the best songs in it. I hope someone tapes it, I would love to see y'alls version. Break a leg brother!
Our first rehearsal with Eddie tonight was ...rough. We have a lot to put together in two nights, but we'll get there.
Doc, in all seriousness, and no intent to insult in any way. I am curious, do you use your "everyday" chair, or do you have a special "Stage/Acting" chair? I ask, because this matches so well to the Stage and set, and seems in pristine condition???
That's actually my everyday wheelchair. The color is a little off in the picture: the framework acutally matches Dolphin aqua. (Well, it's a little more teal than that, but it's as close as I could come.) I have used antique wheelchairs in the past, but was able to use my regular chair for this part, since it was technically a concert version of the show. Good question! And absolutely no offense taken.
