well, i'm just thinking they can rely on Bess or even Ginn in a pinch. Chris does seem to bobble alot of the punts and he just laid one on the turf. He would really have to have a great week 3 game or show up as a receiver prospect. Right now he seems to be a dangerous returner who has poor hands. dont think that makes the club
Total horse manure that the fumble recovery is not reviewable. Any objective call (i.e. non-penalty) should be reviewable. Tape clearly shows the Dolphin player recovered and was touched prior to the pile. If the tape can provide irrefutable evidence that something happened it should be subject to review.
Well the thing of it is, this is merely preseason, the 2nd team "D", or the kick returner muffing, is not the end of the world, the important thing is what Williams and the 2nd team d does now.
It looked to me like he had trouble feilding this one too.. a little bobble again.. dang, the kid is electric.. let's hope he redeems himself on the second half.
so whats your guys opinions on who stood out. Looks like vontae pitched a shutout. didnt see one guy catch a pass on him past the line of scrimmage and he had some great run support. merling looked good. jake grove. murphy looked a bit better. ronnie obviously as well as porter. soliai and starks too
Exactly, the real problem for Williams is the kicks he fielded he is not getting additional yardage, his path to the team is providing extra yardage over Ginn and Bess and right now he is at about 25 ypa on kick offs and 8 ypa on punts with a fumble, big picture he has to do better than that to make the squad.
And in the more bad news category, Cam Wake has been getting folded up like a wallet by Carolina's #1 Tackles, he has to do better as well.
Chad looked good, probably could have had a better throw to Cobbs that would have been a TD. Ronnie looked like a man on a mission. Vontae looked like he should have last week. Our first team run D was good, pass D could have been better but it was our nickel D and we're without Smith and Allen.
Q Moses looked really good, the Oline has played well, and JT and JP look in Gameday form, the Safeties have been getting abused by Carolina's Te's, and Cam Wake is being schooled on his pass rush. Penny looked fine as did Ronnie and Ricky
