Commentator is Greg Buddle (who used to play for the Jets, I guess) and someone else. Tune in for the first 7 minutes and the Buddle dude proclaims that since they drafted Sanchez they're going to the Superbowl. Gimme a break.
i mean to be fair, i would not be surprised if the jets do go to the superbowl? I mean why not? they got nothing else to do, and the players can afford tickets, so yeah maybe they do go to the superbowl, maybe one will go for free and help with the pregame show
His first pass was a beauty. 43 yard completion, hit Clowney in perfect stride down the sideline. Posted via Mobile Device
Yep, soak it in. Its a long season, and unfortunately for you, your guys won't be playing the Lambs every week.
Greg Buttle played for the Jets in the 80s and was a pretty good LB. With that said..any Non Jet fan who ever had the unfortunate luck to have to listen to his drivel for years..he is about as HOMERISH as they come..not a objective bone in his body.
I loved Jimmy Cefalo as a player....as an announcer..he it unlistenable. As bad as I have ever heard. Can't understand what he is saying(raised garbled voice) on most plays.
Yea, he looked good. Only took 4 snaps though. I dont know if it was against the 1st team defense or the 2nd team defense, but yea, he looked good. Does that mean he's going to be good against a real defense? We dont know
Is this true? And if so why? That is a completely idiotic move by the head coach. You've trash talked your division, want to win immediately, and instead of giving your rookie QB valuable game experience you pull him early?
im pissed they lost. Jets quite often go 4-0 in pre-season and then lay eggs when it matters. i dont like them losing one bit. you want your team to go 2-2, 3-1 tops. you dont want to be losers either. 1-3 or 0-4 is bad too.
Right.. Because he wants the kid killed with 3 of 5 offensive line starters not playing last night. Posted via Mobile Device
MOst SUperbowl winners do not have losing pre-season records, if I recall correctly. That said, I believe 7 or 8 teams have won a Superbowl despite a losing most of their pre-season games. Preseason games are as much (or more) about coaches assessing roster players as trying to win. It;s a chance to see players in real game situations in order to assess them, then teach them better. I'd be comcerned if we looked HORRIBLE in the preseason, but usually expect a mixed results preseason. Heck, we went 2-1 in preseason under Cam Cameron. That's one more game than we won during the rest of the entire regular season that same year!!! So what did that pre-season tell us? Not much. i remember being EXCITED about the season after that statue of liberty play in the preseason.
No kidding. You can't treat this guy like a veteran who doesn't need the game reps just because you expect him to start. Sanchez has started..? What..16 games throughout college. Bad move on Ryan's part. I don't care who's playing on the OL; Sanchez needs as many game reps in the pre season as he can get.
+ it's not as if even if all the starters on the Oline were in he's going to be kept clean all season long. He will get hit.
If they were that worried about him getting hurt, they could have played him with/against the second team at the very least. It's not just getting used to NFL defenses it's also learning to execute the playbook and developing chemistry in game situations.
I know you do. If I were you I would feel the same..... In fact, I was you last year with our new coaching staff. So I get what you're saying. I even get what Ryan is thinking in starting Sanchez against the Ravens. I assume he's thinking that since that Ravens' D was his own until this year that he believes that he knows how to beat it. Maybe he's thinking since he knows that D so well it'll be an easier start for Sanchez than the Rams would have been. But.....maybe he's being just a little too arrogant for his own good. Honestly, don't you think (if that is his reasoning) then that's just a bit arrogant? The Rams' defense was pretty horrible last year. While the Ravens' defense was absolutely stellar. In spite of what Ryan knows, I can still see guys like Suggs, Lewis and certainly Ed Reed wanting to shut Sanchez down. They are not going to want a rookie QB to show them up. I may well be wrong. But I think it could get ugly for the guy.
I wouldn't mind too, too much if it does get ugly. Would I be shocked if it did get ugly? Absolutely not. It might be a humbling experience for the kid. Sometimes, getting your *** kicked isn't the worst thing in the world. He is gonna have his fair share of ugly moments this year, IMO, this might be one of them. I'm not looking into it so much. It's a preseason game. This is more working out the kinks type of game then trying to win. Also, he has been going against Rex's system every day in TC, so don't be surprised if he looks good.
LOL...he throws a TD against the second string Ravens defense and the announcer acts like he won the superbowl.
Well they could praise the Dolphins Morty, but no they'd rather show the only good run the Panthers got against us. Oh our D is gonna eat the rookie alive.
