Had to post this highlight video of Ricky Williams. He is one of my favorite backs. I just love the way he runs with both speed and power, especially earlier in his career with the Dolphins. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DysNAn68Dqc"]YouTube - The Best Of Ricky Williams[/ame] I think he still has some left in the tank, I hope he has a great season this year along with Ronnie and Cobbs.
I'm looking/hoping for us to be able to run a lot more and better between the tackles. Then we can run Ronnie and Ricky get more "normal" carries. I'd like to see 30 carries a game between the two. This is turn will help us with play action passes. That is what Chad Pennington used to kill us on. Big plays out of play action passes.
I agree I loved Ricky, its just what does he have left honestly? Last year in pre-season we all had ricky as a STUD back he was running all over the place and looking fresh as ever. Fast forward to the season and he was all but invisible for the most part. He had some good runs but nothing like we or the team was predicting. In fact if Ronnie Brown wasn't involved in the wildcat we would also be lambasting his performance. Ronnie and Ricky should both be over 1000 yards with their pedigree and talent I just don't know if Ricky can or should be counted on for anything more than 5-10 touhes and a decoy for the Wildcat.
a once a decade phenomenon: the Beast of the Second Half, the RealDeal, the FranchiseBack, the RagingBull, the Lightning Bolt has two questions to answer: 1) how much rubber is left on those wheels? (I think there is a lot life left in those legs, probably another 2 or 3 year left to run @ an excellent level) 2) how much desire to run is left in Williams heart? (I don't know. Ricky is difficult to read. His innate humility & shyness prohibits a lot of accurate insight into the man. I think he wants to go out on top & can be motivated by Parcells to return to his game. could have some surprises arise in 2010: would like to see McFadden in a Dolphin uniform & Williams has a big Question mark on his back nothing would surprise me that being said: the Tandem will run well behind the Orca-5 in 2009 Run Ricky Run
McFadden? Bwahahahaha How did he enter this conversation? And why would we want him? Thanks for the clips nolefin
i just cant understand why everybody has to put music behind all these highlights is there any better than the original commentators doin there job ? its quite impossible to find highlights of any nfl players with original commentators gettin pumped up, i´m looking for randy moss highlights back in his minnesota days, not possible at least on you tube, it sucks so bad, its like havin to listen to american sports in german, total disaster
I read something early that Sparano said that Ricky looks stronger, leaner, and more explosive than he has ever seen him. It looks like he has something left. I guess we will have to see how much later on.
I really respect the things Sparano says and how he says them, but keep in mind how long Sparano has actually been interacting with Ricky That being said, I really love the Luxery we have with Ricky coming in to relieve (Don't go there Opie) and actually compliment Ronnie. More and more, key pieces are really starting to come together for this team, and having a healthy (Both physically and mentally) Ricky is a huge piece for sure
Friend asfinfanmang: understand your surprise. Kind of dropped that one on the forum like a bomb. however 1) we have struck the Raiders twice before for major upgrades (Grove & Wilson) 2) discontent within the locker room? (Al Davis & McFadden are rumored having problems) anything is possible 3) I think McFadden is the the Ricky Williams of the decade & might be our next major upgrade, if things took the right turn for Miami & wrong turn for the Raiders. McFadden in a Dolphin uniform would have FutureFranchise written all over it.
Sorry, and with all due respect, McFadden isnt even an upgrade from Patrick Cobbs, he just has 3x the paycheck. Of course, that is only my opinion, but looking at how he did compared to the other backs in that stable, I am not the only one that thinks so.
Not the time nor place, and I am sorry I have already started a hyjack here. BTW: I had to rewatch that Ricky clip.... And just have to say.... Thanks Ricky... thank you very very much
I love the clip starting at 1:08 where he drags the player at the line and then stiff arms the other to finish the run. Too much power.
As much as I like Ricky, I don't think he has many miles left in him. He's getting up there in age. This year, I see him getting around 10 carries a game, with Ronnie getting around 20. Ronnie Brown is the younger, fresher back, and I see us riding him to the playoffs.
I dont think anybody is going to argue with you, and Ronnie is indeed an absolute STUD, but having Ricky coming off the bench, if healthy, is a very very nice option to have
I truly believe that we have the most brutal ground game in the NFL right now. Ronnie is a very versatile back as well as Ricky and Cobbs. All 3 are explosive at any given moment.
I don't know if Jake Grove is mobile enough, but I would love to see the Miami Dolphins run more screens this year. Especially with Ronnie Brown.
Ricky is my favorite fin of all time. Had I grown up with cable I might feel different with Dan, but since i didn't I really missed out on a lot. Ricky was amazing, fast, strong, brilliant. My favorite player to watch...ever....
I think you're big time wrong on McFadden, he's on a team that destroys careers. I believe he is potentially the top RB in the NFL, Ricky had some problems w/ the Saints before taking off like rocket w/Miami. I've followed McFadden closely through the years. He is the real deal awaiting an opportunity. back to the thread: the Tandem is one of the best in the NFL & you just never know about Williams, he just may reinvent himself. Run Ricky Run!
