what is the best free anti virus program i can download from internet

    my norton anti virus expired. i had great anti virus on my old computer for free but dont remeber which one it was. anyone know any good ones i can download for free

    Bro some members have said this one is good. I don't know as I haven't used it. My Norton is coming to expire soon, so I may switch.

    I use avast! and I think it is great. Had it for years with no problems.

    I use Avast on one and AVG on the other. No real reason but I like avast better. You should be good either way you go.

    thanks guys. I had AVG on my old computer but couldnt remember the name until you guys mentioned it. I'll check out Avast and decide which one to go with

    I know this one has been marked answered but Avira is the best free anti virus. I have had to run all of them at some point to troubleshoot for internet subscribers at my workplace. Avira's detection rate and impact on system resources is off the chain. Avira is the closest free app to NOD32(best paid app) that you are gonna get. Avast and AVG are getting to resource hungry for my taste.
