    Back in Miami
If not S. FL. I'd live in San Diego.
    I love the place.
I always tell people it's S. FL. without the horrid heat.
Then again San Diego is a beach paradise without the Reefs like S. FL. has so I'll stick here being an avid diver.

actually, its too bad there aren't more people that felt that way when my wife and 2 boys took a vacation to oregon i could tell exactly when we crossed the state border fom california. the california side was a dump, soon as we crossed into oregon the countryside cleared up. all the people moving into california have had it tough and they think california owes them the good life.

i moved from cali because of the people, i loved the weather and there isn't another place in the country where you can surf in the morning, water ski and dune buggy in the afternoon and snow ski at night. i used to surf every morning at the point in ventura before i went to school. used to hit the Rincon on weekends.

Could you elaborate some Sam, I'm curious. Malcolm is working on some cool stuff that might help strengthen foundations from shaking into jello, very interesting to me... all of it.

As far as the Cali debate

Without a doubt, an incredibly beautiful State, and Sandy Eggo is my favorite vacation spot not named Kauai....that being said, I can only handle about 7-10 days of the insane hustle and bustle, insane drivers and ludicrous cost.
I lived in Santa Barbara for a year back in the 80's. That was enough for me :pity:

As for letting kids play outside etc. Its not bad here in rural Texas. Seems like folks take a Social Pride in looking out for one another. It really is a huge perk
