Knicks will want expirings and draft picks for sure. Redick could work because his contract is cheap and the knicks need shooters. Value wise it will probably take additional picks with redick.
Who would you rather get in a Sign and Trade from Toronto? Shawn Marion Anthony Parker Carlos Delfino Pops Mensah-Bonsu Jake Voskuhl
Orlando isn't doing a Sign and Trade with Toronto. Otis Smith said he won't. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...magic-05070509jul05,0,2300813.story?track=rss
http://www.floridatoday.com/article...Anderson+will+play+for+Magic+in+Summer+League That Russian guy is 280lbs
As it stands now we still only have 8 players signed(and still haven't used our MLE yet or gone too far into luxury tax), so it's obviously still too early to declare a final starting lineup. If we had to go with what we have on the roster now I would say.... C-Dwight Howard PF-Ryan Anderson SF-Rashard Lewis SG-Vince Carter PG-Jameer Nelson It's obvious though that won't happen. I think we will make a strong push for Brandon Bass(young, relatively cheap strong PF) and possibly Grant Hill & Nate Robinson depending on what the market is for them. Personally I think Bass is the missing part, and he would most likely shore out our starting lineup much better than even Sheed due to his age/limited play time. Ryan Anderson seems to be a better shooter than Sheed as well, so he would become useful depth rather than relying on an unproven youngster. I'm not sure what we will do to replace Gortat, but I'm going to keep my eyes on the summer league team(thats also where we found Gortat). As far as I'm aware there's not exactly a big list of Centers out there on the market that Orlando has shown interest in.
PFs we could pick up: Glenn Davis Anderson Varejao Brandon Bass Zaza Pachula David Lee Channing Frye Antonio McDyess Paul Millsap Leon Powe Thats a list of Players that I think are more than capable to fill the PF role for the Magic.
Magic Lose to OKC in First Summer League game, but there were some bright spots on the players we are expecting to make the roster. http://www.nba.com/magic/news/OKC-ORL_recap_070609.html I hope Anderson & Richardson continue to improve, we need some of our youth to step up for us next season no matter what other Free Agents we sign.
hmmm...could they be talking about matching and making Gortat the starting PF? he wasnt very comfortable in that role during the playoffs, but likely because he hadnt had much pratice in that position. defensively it would be amazing, would it crowd the lane though? tough decision. to be honest, im not the biggest fan of Otis Smith, but as long as we keep Gortat or get Bass i will be happy.
I don't know man but if he waits too long he is only going to have one choice. Because I have a feeling Bass won't take long to get picked up, plus we still need some back up at SG and SF
There's only 1 real team other than Orlando that Bass is interested in. That's Detroit. Obviously Detroit has much bigger ??? than Orlando & who in their right minds would rather live in Michigan than Florida? Dallas technically is still out there, but after the Shawn Marion trade they do not have enough money to pay for Bass. Bass' agent also came out and said that they would want Dallas to offer the best deal for him to have any shot at returning to them. That's definitely not happening now. I hate to make predictions, but I think we have Bass pretty much locked up. I would be pretty surprised to see him end up in Detroit. Getting Bass won't complete our offseason work though, and this trade exception is really our only bargaining chip left for this year. Thankfully we can hold onto it if need be, there is a good chance some teams will be looking to dump salary near the trade deadline, and we would be in a great position to add a key player.
Pietrus will be the backup to both of those positions i would have to guess. they will still need another SF incase Pietrus gets into foul trouble or gets injured. we DO need a backup Center though....
Actually one of our Biggest Offensive additions Im hoping is already on our team...and thats Dwight. Hopefully Ewing gets his Offense together
I agree with JagsFan3223. We go as Dwight Howard goes. If Dwight Howard can make that 12-15 foot jumpshot, shoot at least 65-70% from the free throw line ,learn to be a better passer, and get a go to move, we have ourselves a 25-30 PPG machine. I know it's alot to ask for, but he is our franchise Center.
http://feeds.orlandosentinel.com/~r...nciple-to-a-4year-deal-with-brandon-bass.html So this makes our SL: C- Dwight PF- Bass SF- Shard SG- VC PG- Jameer Bench: Anderson JJ AJ Pietrus Otis needs to get some Depth...Cuz I don't think that will do it. Even though thats about the exact number of players SVG plays a night.
"Rashard_Lewis@StylezMcKoolaid He's on vacation but we all talked about that earlier. It doesnt matter to him, wherever he can help the team the best" Good to see Shard with this type of Attitude
http://www.nba.com/magic/video/2009/07/10/gortat071009.magic/index.html Marcin even with the signing or Bass thinks Orlando will Match
OK, my plan is to match Marcins contract offer, then real in Nate Robinson or Matt Barnes. That would complete this offseason for me, IMO.
