Beer? Did someone say beer? Uhh...ooohhh...a "beer question." Gotcha. Well, can't help ya on the MGD Slick my man, but I'll chime in on behalf of the "old men" and admit that I am a proud Bud Man. Preferably longnecks, but I ain't that picky...cans will do.

I also like the occasional Coors, Rolling Rock or Yuengling. Grew up drinking PBR (at a very young age I might add) because it was what my parents drank. So, the fridge was always stocked. You learn to like whatever is free and easily accessible. BTW, PBR will knock you for a loop if you ain't used to it. At least it did me. Ahhh...good times my reckless and rebellious youth.

Never been much on all those micro-brews. Too trendy for me, I guess. But, truth be told, ain't never really tried any. Maybe I'm missing out on somethin'? Well, gotta run...happy hour awaits!

Micro-brews have two advantages over the non-microbrew beers.

    1. taste. They taste better
    2. alchohol content. The average american store bought lager is 4% alchohol. Micro-brews have up to 9% as does my favorite Old Rasputen Imperial Stout. Drinking these like they are regular beers can mess you up

The beauty of the micro-brew revolution is that more and more micro-brews are becoming mainstream. Even bud is producing an ale.

Sometime watch the history of beer. It is very interestings. It shows that we wouldn't even been having this discussion if it wasn't for prohibition and the great depression. I have heard that the original pre depression recipie for bud is actually pretty tastey.

I am really surprised by the amount of "micro-brewed" beer that is available at super markets here in the northwest. It is just getting bigger and bigger with more and more obscure beers. I do not even need to go to 99 bottles to get a lot of the beers I have grown to love in beer festivals and bars.

the only beer i wont accept is schlitz. i'll atleast drink half a busch. really depends on the mood im in as to what beer i drink. i may go a dark lager or maybe something like a rolling rock but usually plain ole bud, but never make a funky beer face when given a free one unless it's the first.

Then you can sip. Enjoy the taste of beer. Still get tipsy AND not have to go to the bathroom all of the time.

You make some good points re; micro brews Dol Fan Dupree. I may have to further investigate.

BTW, I always thought domestics were 6% on the average. So, I checked my can o' Bud (which was conveniently close by :wink2:) and it says 5%. Hmmmm....

Like I said, I may have to further investigate the stuff with a li'l more kick. So, I sure would appreciate any recommendations you care to make. :ffic:

    San Diego
Microbrews here. Anytime yall come out to San Diego you have to try Pizza Port. it's so micro they don't even sell their beer in stores, consumption on the premises, or keg or a little jug they sell. Oh, and their pizza is awesome.

If you're used to mass american beer though some of them may make your mouth pucker. Bu t they have some less hoppy beers (cardiff cream ale, honey ale).

Local breweries, karl strauss makes some nice ones. Gordon Biersch from the bay area, also one of my favorites, Anchor Steam. Stone brewery is in San Diego (try their IPA if your game). I occasionally like a Fat Tire as well.

And when I'm at a club or bar with limited selections, it's Bass, Guiness, or Black and Tan, Blue Moon (a belgian style ale, but made in the US, it's tasty though). When I was in Paris I tried a bunch of beers ,mostly belgian ales, and they were delicious. One that stood out is Leffe, which is available here.

Worst comes to worse, I don't mind a heineken, corona etc. Some good mexican beer is also Negro Modela or Modela Especiale.
