Possible MLB Steroid List Leaked?? Not sure if this list is real or fake, nor do I understand the order as listed but it is popping up all over message boards today so I thought I would post it here for discussion. I personally think its a fake list...but the names are interesting for sure. No Albert, No Griffey, No Jeter, No Chipper...all good if true. I love the random names like Antonio Alfonseca. Just goes to show steroids dont always make you a star
I say ban every one of the cheating bastards. Liars, cheaters, thiefs and thugs are ruining this world and should be dealt with accordingly. *** I realize this isn't a current list, but I think it should be a one strike and done system ***** cheating is cheating.
If true!!!......lots of names not listed rebuild some trust....but then again a name not on the list simply means not tested postive for this specific testing. This 2003 testing was KNOWN testing to all who took it per the agreement with the union...and 104 fools got caught.....stupid is as stupid does.
I think we should hold off from discussions until we find out if the list is real or not however I see 2 names on the list that I know were users and know 1 of those names indeed are on the real list.
My sentiment is more a generality not so much based on the names on the list. It's would be a very easy list to forge. Sprinkle in a few confirmed users and you lend instant credibility.
Its not that its a current list...its speculation on the OFFICIAL 104 list that did test positive in 2003...which proved that over 5% in MLB was using PED...that 5%+ (I think that was the agreement) forced the unions and MLB FO to change rules and create further testing and penalties. This 104 was never published but the recent names being leaked have led to the AROD and Sosa outings.....everyone believes someone in the Justice Dept is leaking these names, and if true, the full list has finally been leaked. The joke, is that MLB FO and the Union agreed to the testing (anonymous in theory, but they put the players names on the bottle to track who was abusing...idiots), and the UNION was supposed to have destroyed the list, but through some error it was kept and not destroyed. The Bonds case is what has supposedly led to the finding of this list from subpoenas of the Lab that conducted the testing, etc. Who knows..but a comedy of errors has lead to the list being found, names being exposed, and Mitchell report details, etc.
I am not asking anyone to be convicted, but simply like yourself, we have some that have inside info to add to the discussion.
Lets face it, Griffey is the only slugger of our day that is legit. Hall of fame!! The others should go to the hall of shame.....and yes, they should make one. Might as well put it in Buffalo.
Real, fake, it doesn't matter. I didn't even have to open this thread to know Chipper wouldn't be on the list. Griffey is another guy you know never did that stuff.
Haha sorry but I'm not saying anything more. I've been told by more than 1 credible source but there's no way I'd disclose who, especially on a message board. Maybe after 5 or 6 beers that's another story....
Richie Sexson Who did he play for? There was a Richie Sexson that played for the Columbus Redstixx several years ago. It was the Cleveland farm team. I remember him as tall and skinny. IF it is him, it's a shame, he was good.
http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/sexsori01.shtml Came up with CLE, time with MIL and SEA are most known.
Thanks. He was such a nice kid. I hate it if this is true. Watched him on first base down here, he was pretty good. He played when Pete Rose Jr. was playing down here, if I'm not mistaken. The stadium was packed back then, now it's no more. Shame people wouldn't support it.
I think it's safe to say the list is fake. It's been more than a few hours and none of the major sports news stations or websites have picked it up or even commented on it. Seriously who the hell is #66 Dan Smith? I can't for the life of me remember him even after looking him up and he actually pitched in 3 games for the Red Sox in 2000.
Sad as it is I have 22 mets on that list. Delgado, Pedro and Shawn Green would truly surprise me. Not that the Mets are immune but i felt those guys had character, instead of being characters. I refuse to believe Livan's on there. He simply throws too many pitches to do steroids; his arm would simply fall off. Just last month he threw over 200 pitches in a game between the actual game (127) and warmups (85)
Yeah I agree that it is most likely fake. If this was the real list, it was be huge breaking news on all sports sites and regular news would be talking about it as well.
Not to mention that Barry Bonds is implicated on this list. Had it been true, this would be the smoking gun that EVERYBODY had been waiting for.
Shawn Green and Pedro were on my list of former Dodgers too. Shawn Green seems like he has a ton of intregity, but then again, so did a lot of guys who later ended up being exposed. I don't think that this list is accurate, but there really wasn't a name on it that completely surprised me either. I suppose it goes to show you the level of jaded we all have become as baseball fans.
The day i find that Griffey took steroids is the day i am done with Baseball... But thankfully, i dont think that day will come!
Let me ask this question again... What's the difference between the MLB and WWE? Both are fake. It's sad that people give this league enough attention to keep it "premier"... Sad. It doesn't deserve prime time spotlights.
Steroids isnt what makes the WWE fake...And if drug use is all it takes to make a league fake the NFL has been fake for a very long time.
I'm not buying the list. If it is true, glad Vlad isnt on it. Other than that I'm not buying it at all. This thing would be all over ESPN if it were confirmed as true. I'll wait for that confirmation before giving this list much weight.
