Is the move final? I hope not man. I hate Chelsea and I love Pirlo.

No comments about Italy beating USA 3-1

some terrible reffing on not allowing that first Italian goal

I also did not think USA deserved either the penalty shot or the red card

To bad for you guys Rossi decided to play for Italy, although I love the rule once you play for a country you can't change countries

Pretty much, almost, if that means anything.

A few players will follow Ancelotti. Pirlo, Seedorf, and Pato will be leaving Milan after next season..........

Red card was the worst call I have seen in a long time...and it impacted the game far more than the PS or the no-goal.

Agreed. Terrible reffing. Even in the Spain game, those offside calls were horrific.

How did you watch the game in HD? It wasn't on standard CBC. It was on CBC "Bold" or something, a specialty CBC channel? Just curious. I had to watch in Telelatino, I don't know if you have that channel.

Why do you think he gave him the PS? He knew he blew the Red Card call.

But you can't say it impacted the game more than a PS. Why? Simple, if Italy was playing a team considered to be world calss (GER, SPN, ENG, BRA, ARG) and weren't able to score UP (just edited from "down") a man after the PS, what impacted the game more?

Look at Australia vs Italy in the World Cup 06. Italy was down a man for most of the game, and Australia couldn't score. Then the PS was called in Italy's favor. What impacted the game more there? The PS or the RC?

For the US playing a man down for the some of the 1st half and all of the 2nd half had a greater impact. The results proved it over a crap call.

If Italy wasn't revoked a clear goal, that too would've impacted the game tremendously. 11 on 11 with Italy playing with a lead. We all know how that usually ends up.

Plenty of what ifs in soccer, simply because one call can change a game more so than any other sport, and because the entire game is called based on a ref's discretion. Part of the pain of following soccer.

Thought the game had awful refereeing... the US played well for what it was being a man down. Those goals conceded were awful, however. Honestly, Italy didn't impress me. Neither did Brazil either against Egypt, however.

Watched parts of Spain beating Iraq 1-0

One thing I have noticed is all the teams are trying to win so I take back my earlier comment

Spain has now won 13 in a row and should be the team to beat

Italy versus Brazil looks huge as the loser will probably face Spain in the semi's

Does Italy ever impress anyone against lesser teams?

You're talking about the team that can only beat Cyprus 2-1 in a WC qualifying match.

They are basically done from the tourney

They need to beat Brazil by more than Egypt beats the USA if I'm not mistaken

Pirlo was horrible on all his free kicks

When is Toni gonna play good for Italy?

We will do what we have to do against Brazil.

USA looked awful today and wow Egypt... What an effort by that country taking down Italy. I think the Italians will pull it out against Brazil though and hopefully the US can make a respectable exit.

so the US still has a shot at advancing, right? They can beat Egypt, while pretty much everyone knew they couldn't beat Italy or Brazil. If Brazil... sorry, Brasil beats Italy, US can advance with a big win over Egypt?

I don't think the US can beat Egypt. If Zidan is healthy, he'll tear the US back four a new one IMO.

I agree, I've come to the conclusion that he will never play good for Italy. He hasn't yet, why would he start now?

I'm so tired of him and his clumsiness.

I don't think anyone has a good answer to why he refuses to select Cassano.

Gilardino, but no Cassano? One guy always plays well for Italy (Cassano) and one guy always sucks (Gilardino). It's a freakin' no brainer

Yeah, very frustrating. If Lippi is sold on Gilardino and Toni, and Iaquinta, he can still play Cassano above them as second striker. No excuses for him not being called up.

Congrats to the US on a well played game against Egypt.

Italy's first half was some of the toughest soccer I ever watched. Long ball giving Brazil possesion all the time. Toni diving, losing every ball sent to him, and running at a pace that would make even Jason Ferguson look fast. And lastly, the defense, especially Chiellini letting the fast paced Brazilians get behind them all game, not to mention leaving Maicon open on the wing the entire game as well.

Second half was much better, and I hope Lippi sees the direction we should take for the 2010 WC. Drop the long ball and play the young speedy kids that have more skill than Iaquinta and Toni.

Oh well, I'd have to say I'm pulling for S. Africa now. Would be nice for the home country to see them win (however unlikely) given the amount of enthusiasm and annoying noise they bring to each game.
