What a nice play by Cora, in fact an amazing play tonight!

This guy isn't flashy, but the more I see him play the more I like him.

Jesus Christ, in the span of a week, we've lost on Castillo's dropped pop-up, our ace starter getting shelled and then on K-Rod blowing his first save of the year. (I don't count the Castillo Drop Game, that wasn't K-Rod's fault.)

I was in a strip club and was watching the end of the Castillo Game (the chick on stage was ugly). I have never been that bummed in a place that ordinarily brings such delight. Ugh. To his credit, my friend Lan, a Yanks diehard, didn't rub it in.

Mets have to face Pat the Bat tonight.....he is the original Met's Killer. I miss Pat but Ibanez is having an MVP year, even with the injury.

How many ****ing times can Bobby Parnell come into the game in a big situation?!? Jesus H Christ, he comes in the game with gasoline in one pocket and matches in the other. I don't want him traded, I don't want him demoted, I want him deported.

The guy makes me long for Aaron Heilman.

Its called getting burnt out because he was never a reliever before late last year. Your arm needs time to adjust to that. Plus teams are starting to get the book on Parnell...when he doesnt get his secondary pitches over his fastball becomes more hittable. I dont want him traded or demoted either..I think he and Feliciano would probably like a couple of days off before they quickly become Jerry's version of Scott Proctor...burnout and overused to the point they arent good.

We're looking sideways to the DL: Hey Jose, Carlos, Maine, Ollie, Wagner..you guys coming back anytime soon? And it gets better: MRI for Beltran tomorrow on his knee.

Thank heavens this division pretty much stinks this year.

Beltran out through the allstar break; ditto for Reyes and Maine.

And we're freeeeeee, free fallin'. The worst part is that Omar and The Wilpons will use the injuries as an excuse to do nothing this offseason. The whole training staff needs to be canned when you have more players on the DL then you have healthy.

Omar Minaya needs to be a seller before the trade deadline and send David Wright to the Phillies.

The Phillies are not playing that great but it's nice to still be in first without Ibanez in the lineup. Marlins starting to improve a little as are the Braves. Luckily the NL East stinks at this time.

Please, we need to send Fernando Tatis to Phillies to ground in to some double plays. And maybe send Castillo there to botch some pop ups. :pointlol:

    D. Wright goes nowhere or you'll be reading about me leading a revolt. Unless we're getting like an insane haul back. And I mean insane. No one is completely untradable but Wright is about as close as they come.

I disagree. The Mets will have some salary flexibility to make moves. Delgado's contract expires, as does Wagner's and Schneider's. That's $17.4M worth of expiring contracts that can be used for players who can help the team. And Castillo will have 2 years at $12.5M or so left on his deal, so he'll be a little easier to trade if they so choose.

Its more then 17.5M. Delgado is 12M (4M buyout became part of his salary + 8M option) + Wagner was due 10M + Schneider I believe was 4.5M = 26.5M. Livan, Sheff, and I believe Tatis are FA's at years end as well bring the total to around 30M. Putz has an option for something like 6 or 7M as well.

Regardless, as long as this medical staff is here and continues to misdiagnose injuries (Wagner, delgado, reyes, beltran, ollie, maine..the list goes on) this team will continue to have some problems. We're a mash unit resembling the 07 dolphins. Clean house like they did and we'll fix this thing much quicker.

Also, ya think we can play the kids like Murphy and Evans regularly instead of watching Tatis hit in to a double play every game?

  23. phunwin

I'm an idiot; I added wrong. But the point remains. There will absolutely be a good opportunity for remaking the team in the offseason.

Re: the medical staff...I don't know what to think. The record of diagnosing injuries properly is certainly a questionable one.

The opportunity to overhaul the team will be there but I question whether they will take advantage of said opportunity. This ownership has never hesitated to use injuries as an excuse. We should use the alloted money to go hard after derosa and bedard with more emphasis on developing the kids we have coming through the system and lettin murphy, evans and eventually those develop in their roles.

Cole Hamels is sucking again AND Jurrjens is no hitting the Phillies in the 7th th.......9-1 Braves. Charlie Manuel sucks as a manager this year, just as bad as the pitching. Wahooooooo Bako gets the Phillies a hit. I keep reading Met's forums where people want to deal Wright.

Well redding is going to the bullpen after todays 5 ER in 2 1/3rd. I dont know that Perez will be better but surely he cant be that much worse.

On a side note murphy and evans started to lead the comeback before Slapstillo hit in to a 6-4-3...beat Tatis to it

Manuel is just pathetic with his use of the bullpen, you would think he would have learned his lesson with Parnell, but no, he keeps throwing the same pitcher out until he implodes.

He does not know how to use the bullpen.

Granted we can't win because we can't score, but enough is enough!

This team is just dumb. We can not hit hit just as easily with murphy, evans, and fernando in the lineup everyday. Guys like tatis and sheffield have little future here. We should find out which teams are looking at holliday and huff and undercut them with sheffield and/or schneider. There is no point having talented young players if you aren't going to let them play

Never hated the Mets, but I love the Dodgers, so it was good to see The originals beat up on the replacements...for once.

Clayton Kershaw has been on fire over his past 7-10 starts. I am not sure he has given up an earned run in his last five starts to be honest.

We're die hards. Thats the only explanation as to why we would put ourselves through watching this crap.

Kershaw has the makings of an ace but this group couldnt score off of scrubs like Moyer and Blanton; I really didnt expect them to touch Kershaw and they didnt. They havent scored in 22 innings. :pity:

So are injuries the biggest culprit for the Mets' woes this year? Ive been away at basic training for the past 15 weeks, so I havent seen a single Mets game this year... Also, has the defense been as bad as the video above suggests? Looks like a rough season.
