"When we want Patrick Cobbs to block he can block. When we want him to run pass routes he can run great pass routes. When we want him to carry the football he's lethal in the running game, so his versatility makes him so valuable," said 10th-year veteran quarterback Chad Pennington, who connected with Cobbs on an 80-yard touchdown and a 53-yard touchdown at Houston last year. "And he's a great special teams player."

I like Cobbs a great deal. Shut your mouth and make plays. I like that in any player.

I agree with you. The guy is dangerous and the fact he just does his job and don't saying anything, actually says a lot about him. I am so happy he is on our team.

He coughed on up during the Ravens game, but, he was battling for yards, and, had guys all over him. I'm never going to rip on a player for effort.

Cobbs fits nicely with this hybrid were gonna run.

Another article, another quote from our extremely talented 1st round pick Vontae Davis that impresses me. He's seems to be going out of his way to act like a professional and that he gets it, lets hope he does, because if he does, watchout.

    Hes a great player.
I think it was during the Oakland game where they pointed out the same thing. They showed few consecutive plays, patrick ran a route out of the backfield, but chad didint throw it to him, picked up a blitzing LB, ran for a TD and made teh tackle on the kickoff right after that. Just a great player.

Camarillo, Bess, and Cobbs are some of my favorite players on this Dolphins team, and they are all undrafted. None of them talk, they just make plays. They are always flying under the radar and I love those type of players.

Cobbs is relatively small @ 5'8" & 200 lbs & not a break-away runner but is quick, tough & illusive. Bess-like in his footballmanship, one of the best third backs in the NFL. Always seems to come up strong @ the right time. Does all the basics & little more.
    Questions:
    1) What happened to Lex Hilliard @ 6' 240 & good speed? I thought he was drafted as a down-hill runner? Is A. Kimble the better RB? Who will stick?
    2) Will we carry two FB's! Chris Brown shows some potential or will they use Lex as a back up FB to Polite? How many will make the RB stable on a run-first team in the NFL
    :wink2:

Man it is great to have too many good players. Seems like in the past we always suffered from not enough. These kind of problems are good to have.

Cobbs is one of my favorites too. We were going to UNT at the same time and got to see him play plenty on Saturdays :)

Cobbs is one of my favorite players on the team. Good runner and good part time receiver. And where Ronnie and Ricky are power packs Cobbs is a scat back. Blink and he's gone. I've noticed that teams who are good at stopping the R&R express struggle to adjust to chasing after Cobbs. He's a nice change of pace and a versatile weapon for us.

I haven't seen the numbers, but would Cobbs be up there with Bradshaw from the Giants last year, as a 3rd back?

I thought, personally, that we underutilized Cobb last season. But that could have been planned due to him being inexperienced at that "multi" role that is envisioned for him...

Thanks for posting this. :hi5: I really enjoyed this part:

"It's a great time. We all like one another a lot. We hang out, we joke around and we have fun in our classroom," Cobbs said. "We learn a lot of stuff, we help each other out a lot, we learn a lot from Ricky, and we learn a lot from Ronnie. Lex (Hilliard) and the younger guys, they learn a lot from us. There's no, you're bigger than the next guy. Everybody gets the brunt of every joke, so you're not too big, you're not too small and it's just really a group of brothers."

Cobbs is very valuable to this team, and one of my favorite players. We need more guys like Cobbs on this team.

Cobbs certainly has a lot to play for over the next two seasons. With Ronnie and Ricky both headed towards free agency, Cobbs' performance this season will dictate his ceiling heading into next year. He could end up being the #2 guy for us in 2010.

Hilliard is on the PS and not likely to come off. I do not think we will carry two FBs. Our backfield will be the same as it was last year.
