I watched 'Master & Commander' this afternoon. What a great film! Regardless of what anybody thinks about Russell Crowe in the public eye, he was great in this movie. Very historically acurate, all the way down to the awesome soundtrack of classical music. A big

    Finally saw Gran Torino.

Wow. That was an amazing movie.

Between this and the movie Up, I don't think anyone will ever be able to top the whole, "Cranky Old White Widower, Reluctantly Befriends A Young Asian Fatherless Male, Only To Learn More About Himself And Find Inner Peace, While The Asian Kid Learns To Be A Man, All Of Which Is Mostly Centered Around A House...Oh And There's A Dog" genre.

Actually, I think these movies would make excellent companion pieces for one another.

Yeah, it was definitely awesome. A lot of people I know didn't like the ending, don't want to give anything away to anybody, but I thought the movie was outstanding. The slow increase of the level of compassion that built up during the film was great.

Gran Torino was simply a great movie I was suprised the way it ended

I thought Eastwood was gonna kick all sorts of ***, I didnt think he'd just set up the punks to get arrested but when I saw it again I realized it actually made perfect sense given the development of his character

The International: One of the better Clive Owen flicks I have seen. Really good flick.

    S. Darko a Donnie Darko tale: Stays true to the strangeness of the first one..but wasn't as good.

Watched 'Dog Day Afternoon' today. Great movie. I recognized a very young Lance Henriksen as an FBI agent towards the end. It's based on a true story, and the two bank robbers, Al Pacino and the late John Cazale, were major characters in the first two Godfather movies, one more than the other, ha ha. Check it out if you've never seen it.

    Up- 9/10

Was not expecting for the movie to be like that. Pixar continues making great movies.

    Gran Torino- 8/10

Did not see it ending the way it did and I bet the girl wished she had been more respectful when she heard the disappointing news at the end of the movie.

The Departed - Always great, I still need to see Infernal Affairs though.

Hot Rod - A pretty silly movie, but actually funnier and better than I expected.

Saw Tropic Thunder last week, and didn't like it at all. I was kind of shocked seeing how I like every actor that was in that movie, yet just couldn't get into it. Now, everyone thinks I'm crazy.

Saw The Hangover this past weekend and thought it was great. Very funny movie that held up to it's expectations. Zach Galifianakis was perfect.

Will Ferrell once again is a genius, as is Kenny Powers (I don't care what that guys name is, he will forever to me be Kenny Powers from Eastbound & Down on HBO).

Forgot to mention that I rewatched the first three Harry Potter movies over the weekend. I had forgotten how enchanting these movies were, and what a significant shift in tone the third movie represented. Also loved the time travel nerdiness at the end of "Azkaban."

We're watching the remaining two movies this weekend, which will be the first time I've seen either one.

Jack Black was good in Tropic Thunder I thought.

I just watched the re-make of 3:10 to Yuma. Very good movie all around. Acting was top notch. As big of a douche as Crow is, he's a damn good actor.

before that I watched The Happening... Wow, what a ****ty movie. And I usually like survival films. John Leguizamo is one of my favorite actors, so I figured I would check it out despite the terrible things I've heard about it.
