dude.....WEC was amazing....could be debated as having the best card, knockout, and submission of the year.....all in one night..... the flying knee at the 8 second mark was unreal.....and the flying triangle that prelim fight was amazing!
Yeh the WEC card was great. The flying knee was insane. I loved how they mentioned no one is really stepping up to fight this guy. Got to feel bad for Jens though.
Yeah, sadly. The guy is a legand but is making more than anyone in the WEC and has won I think once in his past seven fights. Oh, and as mentioned above, the flying knees(I saw him connect with both) were crazy.
If Faber wouldn't of broke his hand that fight was his. Plus I have to say the Strikeforce Event was probably one of the best MMA events I have seen in a while. Better than anything UFC has thrown out there.
Missed the Strikeforce card, but got the WEC. Great card as always. I believe it was that punch to the top of the head that broke Faber's hand. He said afterward that both his hands were messed up. But the right was definitely broken. And it looked to me like it was that shot (which dropped Brown). Really wish these WEC cards had the audience the UFC does. Top notch talent there.
the bad thing......i think brown looks bad not being able to finsish off faber when he clearly wasnt close to even 70 %......the guys is 100% throwing elbows cause his hands are in so much pain.....why not throw some head kicks to force faber to throw his hands up to block? that would do so much damage even if it was 100% blocked......brown is the champ....he should have been able to finish off faber in 5 rounds....great card though....
Eh. I think he decided to stick to the gameplan. He knew he was winning. He figured something was wrong with faber? Why take a chance? And even though I agree with you that finishing faber off would of been impressive, he was there to defend his belt, and thats exactly what he did. On Faber... http://twitpic.com/6w0i8 Yeah...
Mike Brown would've been in BIG trouble if Faber hadn't hurt both of his hands. It's a testament to how great a fighter Urijah Faber is that he was able to go 4 full rounds against the champion of the world after completely destroying his right hand. What Faber just proved is that Brown's first victory WAS a fluke. There is no doubt in my mind that a healthy Urijah Faber beats Mike Brown. Brown will fight Aldo by the end of the year, and I hope the WEC gives Faber a shot at the winner of that fight. No reason for Faber to need a tune-up fight, let him heal his hand up and win his belt back.
she was talking **** to brown too.....the sherdog boards have been bashing that chick for awhile hahaha
Mercer KTFOd Sylvia [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-MKBfKz35U"]YouTube - Ray Mercer vs Tim Sylvia [Adrenaline MMA III: Bragging Rights] [Full Fight][/ame]
whata joke.....this sucks for mma.....regardless boxing homers are gunna jump all over this ****.....mercer is like 15 years older and silvia is supposedly top 10 hw with good stand up.....and he gets ktfo in 8 seconds......silvia sucks now heres my question to the mma people here......does this lower what fedor did? sure he beat AA and Silvia but rogers and mercer made quicker work of the same guys.....just a different fight? or telling to fedors p4p ability?!?!
I don't think it's that bad. Everyone knew Silvya was a joke and AA had major issues. Cro Cop backed out of a 3 fight deal with Dana White to fight in Dream. He reeeally ****ed White over on that one. I don't think Cro Cop wants any part of the UFC guys in his division.
cro cop? do you mean Fedor? cuz if you do your out of your mind. Fedor would dominated the UFC heavy weights. silva is a bum, but with MMA anyone can get knocked out very quickly.
lmao. my fault. i was just wondering why Cro Cops name came out of no where....Cro Cop is a bum. hes a non factor in the UFC IMO.
btw, any body near the hollywood area that enjoys MMA should come out next friday to the hardrock for the Bellator Fight Championships. my boy eric is fighting on the undercard, and its the championship round for tournament. http://www.sherdog.com/events/Bella...hips-Bellator-Fighting-Championships-10-10246
Now he is. A lot of people were really riding his bandwagon before he came in. Then he just got his *** handed to him. Makes Dana White look kind of stupid for throwing Kongo in against Velazques on short notice bc Cro Cop wouldn't take anything but a gimme fight. Only reason White allowed that was bc Cro Cop was supposed to fight 3 more times...wooops. I'm annoyed Kongo lost though. That dude has so much potential.
Damn. Sylvia was out COLD on his feet. That tree took a while to go down. I don't think it says anything about Fedor. Mercer got beat pretty fast by Kimbo, who got beat in 14 seconds by Seth Petruzelli. If it says something negative about Fedor, then it's negative about Frank Mir. And Noguiera. And Randy. You can go round and round with this. I think it's basically a guy past his prime that's been figured out and hasn't adapted his game. Just like Arlovski. He's a big stiff that got in there with a world class puncher, albeit one that's 48 years old. Also noteworthy: Sylvia weighed in at 311 pounds. As you know, that's 45 more than the UFC limit. And this was originally set to be a BOXING match, but later changed to full MMA.
On a serious note, Im happy that Tim's big *** got ktfod, hes a deuche. He kicks him in the ring, thats why mercer dropped his hands and said "wtf" before knocking him out. They agreed to just box right before the fight. How will it effect Fedor's legacy? I dont think it will. First, and foremost Fedor doesnt care what anybody thinks, where he is ranked and so on. Its literally just an every day job for the guy. For those who look for reason to talk some smack about fedor, they will jump on this. But in the long run, I dont think it will mater what so ever. Cro cop..wow. I really believed he will come back strong and whoop some ***. Him ditching Dana was pretty much saying "F this, Im fighting in dream where i can ride of my name"
Cro Cop didn't look all that good against that weed of a fighter they put in front of him at UFC99 this weekend. I thought Velazquez was a bit overrated until I watched the Kongo fight. Dude is an animal. Posted via Mobile Device
Just re-watched the fight I think Mirko was fighting not to lose. He stuck to his regular game plan. I've seen alot of Cro Cops fights. He stalks, but he is very good defensively. He did not want to get caught. He was smart, letting AlTurk get up because ground is where Al Turk is dangerous. I think the fight would of ended the way it did either way. That or the high left kick. Thats how i feel about him. But...there is still something inside of me that is telling me that im not sold on him. Kongo is a great fighter, but has literally no ground game. Every time they started exchanging and Kongo starting to feel in his bat, Cain would take him down, and pound his ***. There are couple of times they could of stopped the fight. He has a great ground game, but i would like to see him fight somebody who is well rounded.
Pearson rocked Winner badly on that last shot of the fight. Might have finished him if they had another minute. Really close fight. Thought Winner might have gotten the first two rounds. I think we'll see him again. Joe Daddy looked good indeed.
I think this free card > UFC 99. I was suprised at how fast Wilkins finished johnson. I wanted wilkins to win, but i thought demarques (sp?) would take it to him. Good, good card. and belfort looked really good vs lindland in February.
Sanchez-Guida was tremendous. Sanchez probably gets the Penn/Guida winner. James Wilks looks like he might make some noise. I expected him to beat Johnson, who I thought got exposed a bit against Nick O on the show. Dana said they awarded three fight of the night bonuses.
