Well, that was interesting. Jeff Hardy becomes the World Heavyweight Champion, then CM Punk cashes in the briefcase and defeats Jeff Hardy to become the new champ.

Hardy vs Punk would be nice.

And Punk is going heel, he could taunt Hardy about how he was more successful in ROH than Hardy was.

    Some Monday news:

Umega has been released and Batista is hurt again, hence why the cage match was so short. He tore a biscep muscle about 3 weeks ago, the E is hoping it will heal quickly.

Anyway Batista is in his 40s and seems like he gets hurt almost montly now. The guy comes back and they put him in a big storyline and then gets hurt and is out for months at a time. I don't know how they can seriously put him in anymore high profile feuds or storylines, especially when the belt is on the line. I'm sure the WWE was hoping for a Triple H/Batista feud for this summer.

Yeah it really came out of nowhere, but really he was used up all of his usefulness in the WWE, hopefully he gets a little run in TNA maybe a feud with Samoa Joe or something.

I've been an on and off wrestling fan, my interest spiked during the attitude era, it was amazing, and then when the WWE started going the PG route I lost interest. I then became hooked on TNA when they had their one hour shows on Saturday night and slowly lost interest in that product when they starting becoming wrestling retirement home and began to phase out the X-Divison. I still occasionally watch and I'm going to download the Extreme Rules PPV to see how it was. Glad to see Batista won, I'm not a big fan of the Orton character, it just seems so forced.

i hate this PG thing... WWE needs attitude era back badly... be edgy, go overboard and cross the line once in a while.

Yeah i think every one saw this coming...

Looks like Vicky is done with the WWE as the long storyline with her-edge and being GM is over. People hate vicky but i understand why she took the job. She took it to support her family. I mean yeah Eddie made a lot of money but at the same time, Pro wrestlers do not make no where close to what pro baseball or football players make. Thats why you see people like flair still doing it. I also find it kind of sad because every time i saw vicky i thought of Eddie and i miss the guy. I really wish Eddie was still alive. He made wrestling entertaining and he was just great to watch. Its sad that Beniot had to ruin one of the greatest moments in WrestleMania history, WM 20 as wwe will most likely never show that clip as a WM moment.

well i think its obvious there will be no match. Its 10:53. By the time the "match" starts it will be 10:58 and raw ends like 6 min after that so means orton will come out. You will have him prob talk trash or something, waiting and then get announced new champ. I think Vince may come out and announces the title is vacant.

Well Beniot won the title and Eddie was in the ring and both celebrated as the confetti dropped. Since Beniot did what he did, WWE has cut all ties with themselves and Beniot. So that moment is something they will forget.

here what going to happen. Orton calls out Batista. Refs count to 8 or 9 and Vince comes out and then announces the battle Royal for the title for next week! Its predictable

WWE had to do this move with another boring Triple H/Orton feud, especially with Batista being out for awhile. Hopefully this moves to a Triple H/Edge feud over the summer.

I agree I would have liked them to have another person enter the sphere, maybe one of the younger guys and start a new feud. This however, is far better then giving orton the championship.

I fell asleep before the main event, which I think tells you all you need to know from my perspective.

Raw is bloated with aging, overexposed stars right now. And its sad, really. Wrestlers like MVP, Kofi Kingston, Miz (who has improved a TON) and Matt Hardy should really be the ones to move up. Granted they appear to be doing that with MVP, but he had horrible crowd reactions tonight, so who knows if it will be a sustainable push.

For my money, ECW is the best wrestling show each week. Christian, Swagger, Bourne, and the Hart Foundation are entertaining to watch week in and week out. Just a nice, tight show.

I dont watch smackdown, but I may have to start taping it. Jericho, from all accounts, is still on fire and players like Edge, Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, Benjamin, Morrison and others makes for good tv more often than not.

Oh and Umaga being released is shocking, considering he had that monster heel vibe forever. Meaning that even if he loses, he maintains his credibility with the audience. Its too bad too, because him going to TNA will do nothing for anyone and probably cheapan Joe to a degree. I wonder if this was a wellness violation (he had two previous). Typically WWE has been good about announcing them, but who knows if/when they get a third strike?

If they felt that he just wore out his usefullness, than I think it says more about the writers than the talent. The guy is good.

I agree about the Umaga thing. Dude is loaded with talent. I hate it when the writers lose steam with a guy and the guy gets released over it. But it could have been drug related, which would be sad.

Hey I agree the Triple H/Orton feud is awful and boring but the WWE had to move to this direction. Batista is going to be out for awhile and needed a big star to replace him. It makes sense. I just hope the Triple H/Orton feud lasts 1 PPV and then they give Edge or Jericho a summer program with Triple H.
