Anyone following this? I'm not. It leaked early this morning. Figured I'd get it and see if it draws me away from Red Faction. FUEL sucked serious ***. Let's see how this goes. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/prototype/index.html http://images.google.com/images?sou...&=&q=prototype game&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
I heard bad things about Fuel as well, which sucks because I was interested in it. A lot of M$ fan boys have been saying how Prototype is going to be a lot better than Infamous and so forth. I don't know if I see that, but it is possible. I am interested to see how good Prototype is, and if it is better than Infamous, then it'll certainly be a winner.
Fanboys are such tools... Isn't Prototype a multi platform title? And who cares which game is better?
May I ask what is so terrible? I know it was made by the same people who did the most recent Hulk game. I expected at least an average game.
Is it playable? Decent amount of achievements to be had? i get free rentals so I'll play anything as long as i get something out of it.
It's a mesh of bad story, bad boring wanna-be-badass characters, zombies, and bad camera and controls. It's just boring and bad. OMG why the hell did I waste 8GB of my hard drive downloading this ****.
And to answer you C-snips, yes, i guess it's tolerable if you're an achievement whore. But DO NOT spend money on this in any way shape or form.
I loved Force Unleashed... It really has the player feeling like they have force powers. But then again, I'm a Starwars geek.
Star Wars is a great action game based around having the force. You certainly feel like the most powerful jedi ever. The only real faults of the game are the length and some repetition. But most games have that problem. Not worth 60 IMO. but 20 is a good deal. But theres a good amount of fan service in the game. Theres especially one moment near the end thats very cool. Im positive Mor knows what character im talking about. You have to accept early on that it can't really fit in with the cannon storyline of Star Wars, mainly cause Starkiller is clearly the most powerful jedi who ever existed, but if you like star wars a lot, definitely cool.
yeah there's some parts that are just epic for Starwars nerds Spoiler Like when you pull down the Star Destroyer... OMG i almost **** myself
Thats sad, I was looking forward to this one, had a great premise. Very sad it turned out to be ****. Come on ME2.
lame. i was really looking forward to this game, i was hoping it would keep me entertained untill fight night came out.
They fail at everything the game stands for.... 1. They main character's baddassness - FAIL. They try so hard to make this guy cool looking and cool sounding, he ends up sounding like an over acted ******. He dresses like a dumbass and the I hope th character designers realized just how corny he is. InFamous's character was corny imo. This guy is 10x that. 2. The revenge based Story - FAIL. This guy was mutated when this virus attacks the city. half the city dies. The other half is turned into mindless zombies... Your character got super powers. He's not deformed of disfigured. He can change the shape of his body to weapons. He can also copy other people or their powers. So with that, the idea of the game is to get back at the people who did this to you. YOU WANT REVENGE ON THE PEOPLE THAT MADE YOU AN INVINCIBLE SUPER HERO? It saved you from dying... You can fight tanks. Yet you're pissed at them while the rest of the city is dead. 3. Super action game play - FAIL. In what looks like it was supposed to be a deep multi-style combat system... Bad cameras turn it into another button masher. Throw in some super moves, and you've got a grade-A brawler with no substance at all. The missions are pretty much: Kill the red dot on your map. Boring.
That's too bad. I wanted to get this after I played Infamous. And yes, Fanboys have been talking up this game big-time. Stiches is right.
I will still give it a rent. There have been games in the past where Mor did not like that I did. Still this game did go from blind buy to rent with this review.
Not that it matter for this garbage, but there's some install bug for the pS3 version. Here's the news and the fix: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/10/ps3-version-of-prototype-features-installation-bug-annoying-wor/
at the request of my good friend The Stern, I retried Prototype. He pretty much begged me to play it again because it gets better. After the very spiderman like first hour or so, it does get better.
I got it on Friday, played it over the weekend, have to say i enjoy this game. I like being able to scale buildings, absorb random people, turn my hands into claws or hugh fists, the more you play the more you can upgrade your powers. I love running up the empire state building then gliding my way down. The lack of a online mode does make it a little harder to justify the $60 price tag, but i gave in anyway.
Revenge story and badass-ness do indeed fail. Super-action gameplay? Yea, it might fail. It is very much a brawler IMO. I am having a lot of fun with it when I want a game I don't have to think about. This is pretty much Crackdown with an edge. Or that is it's intention I guess. If you liked Crackdown, I can pretty much guarantee you like this game. I like upgrading to all the new stuff and making my guy super-human. I wish there was an easier way to find the stuff you need to collect, like how they had the "spidey-sense" in Infamous to look for shards. But oh well. Mindless fun this game is.
