One can hope. No really, I don't think all Wii games are bad and need to be rated M (Smash Bros being an example) but if you recall last years E3, it was Wii fit type of ****. Nothing of any substance. A huge letdown. Considering Nintendo's new direction, I imagine much of the same (Maybe a CGI trailer of a new Zelda or something). Red Steel looked like fun and I would play that.
Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill are $20 at bestbuy.com today if you want to fill your mature Wii users void.
It's because Nintendo accepts the fact that Sony and Microsoft are going to have them beat in those type of games. They do the smart thing and try to attract everyone else, while still having a few of those type games. What I really hope they do is put out more RPG type games. I prefer swords to guns, not a fan of shooter games (unless we're talking like space invaders )
It looks like Microsoft and Sony are going to try to cut into that casual fanbase. Natal is a ******ed name though, at least with Wii you can make the wang jokes.
They can try. I'm not sure how effective it will be though, a lot of people who but the Wii are already hardcore fans. Nintendo is my #1 because I grew up with it but I also love Sony. In my opinion Nintendo was just trying to get back to being a major player with the Wii and they did that. What they do next is going to be what really matters for them.
I grew up with the Big N, but they are not my #1. Most everyone grew up with Nintendo. The Sega Master System was not a big seller (I had it before NES though), and Atari was a little past where many people were at when they got started.
I'm not saying everyone who grew up with it has it as their #1. I'm trying to say that because a lot of people grew up with it, they continue to love it today. I loved the Sega Master System. Of course I didn't have it when it came out because I wasn't alive but I played it in my childhood as well. Nintendo and Sega were my childhood.
I've always considered myself a "Nintendo guy", but I felt like the rug was pulled from under my feet after buying into the Gamecube(it made it worse that the Wii isn't a huge step forward too). The only Nintendo console I have yet to own is the Wii. In comparison to all of the rest too, it is by and far the cheapest console Nintendo has ever made. Price was ultimately the reason I went with the 360 over the PS3, so that is important to me - but I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the Gamecube.
yeah Wii Sports Resort looks like it's the next logical step for Wii Sports... I just wonder if it'll be another thing like everyone buys it just for WSR and not the rest of the motion plus stuff.
