We just have to make sure that when Jake is gone that the Jake voters will turn their allegiance to Ronnie! That's why the better play right now for Ronnie voters is to subtract from Jake rather than Sparano. Negging Sparano is like running in place at this point. Combined we might be able to take the coach down... Jake Long [125] - Ronnie Brown [142] + Tony Sparano [183]
i dont know, seems like the battle to lower Jake Long will just put Sparano so far ahead of Ronnie it'll be hopeless... and who's to say the Long voters will switch to ronnie when hes gone? i think the Long and Ronnie voters need the big guy Sparano to drop out to give either one of them a chance... Jake Long [124] Ronnie Brown [143]+ Tony Sparano [183]-
Right now Sparano has too much support. Negging him is a fools game at this point. Eliminate the low man (Jake) and you've just increased the chances of Ronnie gaining more votes. If Sprano gets out to a bigger lead because of it, it just means it will take longer to knock him back down. Plus, another factor you're not considering is some of the Jake voters probably want a player to win. Eliminate Jake and the only player left is Ronnie. Jake Long [122] - Ronnie Brown [145] + Tony Sparano [183]
Why include Sparano if you wanted players only to win? It seems like a no-brainer that the man who turned the franchise around is going to beat the players.
While I'm happy to have Sporano here and I do think he's our first good coach since Shula's departure, were giving him a little too much credit there. THe guy who turned this franchise around is Parcells. He brought HIS guys in and he brought guys that follow HIS plan and mindset. Let's give Wayne H. some props here as well considering how much people wanted to burn him at the stake in the past. Wayne H. continually tried to bring in people that had the resume to take this team to the top. A lot of his choices didn't work out, but he kept striving to bring the best here and ended up drawing Parcell's out of retirement to build this team into a success. If we were voting for who turned this around Parcells should be in this. As for who wins, I've stopped voting because I think any of the 3 will be a great winner.
Jake Long [124] + Ronnie Brown [144] Tony Sparano [182] - I'm sorry but Sparano is getting to much credit. He didn't turn the team around all on his own, in fact if it wasn't for another coach proposing the idea of the wildcat what do you think our record would be? Jake has a LONG (no pun intended) and bright future in Miami, one in which he may even outlast the coach. How many head coaches have had a good year and then fell off the face of the Earth? Many.
Sparano deserves more credit than Parcells, I think Ireland does too. Yes Parcells brought in people who abide by his philosophies, but that doesn't mean they can win... look at Romeo Crennel who is of the Parcells tree... Sparano was in the locker room, in the practices, in every aspect of the team every single day... Parcells just was perched at the top, showed up for most practices, watched and dropped some hints here and there to players and coaches... Ireland and Sparano did all the work day in and day out and deserve more credit than the person who just brought them in and assisted here and there... if that was the case Wayne H deserves all the credit for bringing in Parcells... but i am one of the ones who thinks a player should win so.... go Ronnie
Parcells and Ireland were both in it, and are gone. Deserved or not, and I think he does deserve it, Tony is getting much respect for what he has done. I personally don't see any reason why the coach shouldn't win, it's called "Dolphins" survivor, and he's certainly qualified in that regard. Jake Long [121]----- Ronnie Brown [145] Tony Sparano [184]+++++
Jake has been knocked down a bit this week, down about 20 points... and Sparano is up about 20... and RB is about the same....
I never said or hinted Sparano shouldn't be included. I just don't think he should win because I think there are better candidates, not simply because he's a coach. My comments were merely commenting on the strategy other voters might be taking who don't think a coach should win. Don't get me wrong. I love Sparano, and have casted quite a few votes for him so far in this contest. But I think Sparano benefited an awful lot from great QB play from Chad Pennington. Doesn't mean I don't think he's a great coach, because I think he is. It just means I've got to see a couple more winning seasons before I really stand behind him to win. That being said, if Sparano ends up winning I have no problems with that whatsoever. Any of these 3 deserve the win IMO. I just want Ronnie to win it more.
