It was on an earlier ESPN web report, but was removed off of the article it was on (article talking about Boldin and Agent). This isnt a rumor because it has been posted on other sites. Ill post a link when I find one. Will Allen is a great player and now one less free agent to worry about.

Dolphins | W. Allen signed to extension Comment (0) Tue, 26 May 2009 11:20:38 -0700 http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl
Good deal, now if Pennington would be re-upped for two more years.. It appears that our secondary will be Allen, Green, Davis, Smith, with a dogfight for the 5th spot.
That's kind of surprising, I didn't think they would resign Will Allen given they spent a #1 and #2 on the pick.
They'll take time to make a transition I think. He can mentor them in a few ways and they can develop behind him and come in during certain times in games. I know I feel a lot better having him there.
I hate to "go there" , but what the heck....maybe our coaches weren't too impressed with our new CBs' minicamp work...or maybe they just really like Will Allen.
I'll be watching to see the details when they come out. But at face value, it's a good move. You want to keep Allen around. He's been a very good corner. And in this division, where New England runs a spread offense and Buffalo is considering a sort of K-Gun reincarnate, you need more than two. And it's good to have a veteran in the mix. And it isn't as if the contracts of Davis and Smith are going to be big. They'll be pretty cheap.
Im glad because I think Sean Smith may need more time to develop and adjust to playing CB in the NFL.
Great news. I hope this doesn't have anything to do with Davis or Smith not living up to expectations so far. But I'm guessing it has more to do with just inking in a proven talent at the position for a couple more years than any shortcomings on the part of our two rookies.
Well, our division is pass happy at the moment and they may like Allen simply as he makes guys who could start depth players, to me this is shoring up the Secondary long term.
this is a team that has legitimate championship aspirations for this year. I think it was a good message to sign him.. On a side note, whatta ya'll think the deal is with Anquan firing drew..Could the dream still be alive, i know we talked with him about a month before the draft, and i know for a fact that he wants to bleed the aqua.. rickyneverinhaled...where are you.
Good move, Allen may be old but he's a solid CB, he just needs to work on his ball skills, and as last season showed, that aspect of is game is salvageable.
I doubt we look at Anquan for several reasons. We have so many recievers what are we going to do with all of them. Bess proved to be a legit starter last season along with Ginn. Despite injury, we did extend contract on Camarillo. We drafted Hartline+Turner. We have London coming in every now and then. Then again, Wilford is Wilford But I just dont see Anquan fitting in anywhere unless we deal a reciever.
$10 million guaranteed over the next two seasons. If he can remain healthy, it's a fair deal for both sides.
I like the move. Allen, Davis,Green, Smith seems like a pretty good CB lineup with potential. We need Allen there to be the veteran guy for our two new rooks there.
This is a great move for the Dolphins. I honestly thought they'd let him walk after the season but I'm glad that's not the case. Will is not only a solid corner, but someone who will be very beneficial to Vontae Davis and Sean Smith.
Yepper...I was going to say the same thing. Thanks for beating me to it. I hate,(and suck) at typing .
I agree. Still a big question mark in my opinion. However, I'll say this, if anyone can shape them up and get them playing well quickly, its Todd Bowles.
giving the timing it's probably more the latter but a little bit of the former. at least that's how i see it.
