Looking for options on how to sell an engagement ring from a previous relationship. I haven't (and still don't) NEED to sell it, so I've been holding onto it so that I can get a better chance of breaking even. It's been 4 years now and I was just wondering on options of how to sell it? Anyone done this before? I'm hoping not to take a nasty hit on it but that might be unavoidable unless I want to lug this thing around for the next 10 years.

From my experience, most places that will buy jewelry of any sort will pay you only for the gold content in them. They usually aren't interested in any gemstones at all...

You could always look into consignment shops or even Ebay or other related auction sites. Those will probably be the best options for avoiding a huge loss...

    Good luck!

    Tokyo!
You could trade it in for something more expensive for yourself or for a future girlfriend.

It's gonna be very very tough to not take a hit.
For the most part, rings depreciate the second you buy them.
The two best scenarios have already been pointed out IMO.
Either E-bay or trading in for some jewelry that might be of value to you are probably your best bets
