I can't wait for Sunday night. Tomorrow, too. I have hope now after seeing the charges & traveling violations called on LeBron in the last minute. David Stern is allowing the NBA to be fun again!
Sick shot by LeBron. Thats what great players do... But after the emotions settle down, the Magic still own this series. The Cavs had to scrap and crawl to beat the Magic without Dwight Howard most the game just to avoid getting swept at home. They still have no answer for Turk. No answer for Lewis. And if Dwight isnt in foul trouble, they have no answer for him. Not to mention they are way deeper... LeBron aint gunna go down without a fight. He aint gunna let his team get swept here. And even then, he didnt really take control of the end of the game... b/c it was equally back and forth. Hell, the Magic actually had all the momentum and control of the end of that game. But he hit a hell of a shot on a broken play and got the W. Thats fine. See you in Orlando...
I'll admit up front I am a Cleveland fan just to get it out of the way - But we have NO answer for Turkoglu and Lewis - I thought we did an amazing job of taking Howard out of the game tonight. Lots of strips and blocks and keeping him frustrated. Amazing to me that he gets all the credit on that team but he has no game outside of 5 ft. Turkoglu and Lewis are the ones that keep that make that team a contender. The Magic continue to be the same team - if they are making their 3's they are unstoppable - if not they are an average team. This series has seen them be cold for the first half and red-hot for the second. We'll see how that holds up. History shows that teams that rely on the 3 don't make it far in the playoffs - but most of those teams don't have the luxury of also having a Dwight Howard to move to should the 3 not be working. It is a great series and it will be interesting to see where it goes. As a Cleveland fan I have to say I trust Lebron in the clutch more than I do anyone on Orlando - but they are doing their best to prove me wrong. Will also say that for all the traveling and charges that Lebron does - dude has the "Shaq Effect" when going to the rim - he is so big that he doesn't get a lot of calls because they don't directly alter his shot. He gets HACKED but doesn't get half the calls that a Wade or Kobe gets because he is a monster.
On the other side of the ball, how can 3 people hacking Howard at the same time not foul him. The ball isn't THAT big.
i agree with all of that except for the part about LeBron not getting calls. He led the league in AND1 plays this year. They were calling fouls when Orlando simply waved an arm near him.
Yeesh, I'm glad I didn't get to see that game now, after seeing the highlights and that painful 3 pointer at the end. Looks to be a good, tight series.
no magic fan wanted to have seen the first half. but the 2nd half was effing amazing. thats the easy choice. but really Rashard, Hedo, Lee, Johnson, and Petrius have all been very clutch. its the magics depth of money shooters that makes them unguardable. Hedo had a huge advantage taking that "would-be" game winning shot because the game was tied, the Cavs had no fouls to give, and it was the last possession of the game. All that goes out the window when LeBron extends 1 second into an eternity and drains a running jumper for the win. I was on the phone with my dad following the Hedo shot, and he was saying its over. I told him I didnt feel comfortable until I saw Lebron crying with zero seconds left. One second changed this series in the biggest way. That shot rattles out, and we're talking about sweeping the king. But now its looking like a 7 game series. Im crossing my fingers in hope that the Magic get up 3-1 heading into game 5.
wow dude! i thought this might have all just been a coincidence. but you seriously better not watch the next 3 games.
Your "answer" was to double-team play hack-a-Dwight. And while putting him on the line worked in that respect(4/8), you were often over the limit putting guys like Lewis and Turk on the line for non-shooting fouls. So the points negated by Dwight going to the line, are made up with our other better shooters getting free foul shots. And Dwight still had 18 rebounds and a couple of blocks. If he stays out of early foul trouble at home... any additional attention you give Dwight other than 1vs1 defense like those doubles you were using... just makes it that much easier for the other 2 guys that you already dont have answers for...
You have GOT to be kidding me...........Lebron gets to the line any time you breathe on him I'm pretty sure he is still leading the league in FT attempts per game in the post-season. Meanwhile, they allow him to tomahawk chop dwight howard, making ridiculous contact..no call...multiple times. LeBron is the posterboy of the league, it's no surprise really.
That ball James just blocked was definately goaltending... and the calls continue. At least in the NFL you can't lose because of calls.
I hate Charles Barkley, but he has been the first to say something about the p*ss poor officiating this post-season!
How to avoid fouling LeBron James: 1. Move your outside leg as far from James as possible. 2. Turn your hips and place your other leg even farther away. 3. Put your hands between your knees. 4. Watch LeBron take the free layup/dunk.
Nope no goaltending. Do you remeber the Pats-Fins game back in 2001 I think it was. The Jamar Fletcher PI call that allowed the Pats to get in field goal range for the game tying field goal. Refs screwed us in that game.
its effing BS. The NBA is nearing MLB status IMO. In game 2 there were 49 fouls called. More than one per minute, get real.
Keep going Magic, let's get it done! I can't watch the game but I'm getting highlights via my cellphone, come on guys!
god watching Lebron play is like bashing your head in with a hammer. foulfoulfoulfoulfoulfoulfoulfoulfoul it's like come on not ALL of those are fouls p.s. i'm an unbiased warriors fan
are you kidding me that 3 pointer was blocked ALL ball i used to really like lebron but all these calls going his way is making me hate him
anyone who says the refs arent controlling things is blind. LeBron gets to shoot 3 shots now, and Dwight is out of the game. ALL FOR WHAT!!!! Dwight got completely screwed the entire night. They wanna let LeBron charge anyone and everyone all night long, but Dwight cant even play defense or hes called for a foul.
