Ok, so here is the skinny (lol); I am a 20 year old male back from my sophomore year at college. I started the Fall semester at about 180 pounds and came home around 199 pounds. Yes, I put on about 20 pounds in 8 months. I put on most of the weight not because of a lack of excercise, but rather too much snacking on junk food and fast food. Now that I am back home I already cut those bad habits out.

I also am a real dedicated individual and can stick to a diet almost 100%. I also enjoy excercising and when I am not working; I run 1.5 miles a day in addition to playing basketball or whatever else I do. I normally do really well on diets and drop weight incredibly fast, I can easily lose 3,4 or 5 pounds in a week.

I have a weird schedule, but a typical day for me is:
1.) wake up at 12:00 PM
2.) eat at 2:00 PM (normally like a simple sandwich, fruit and some Quaker Rice snacks)
3.) go work at 3:00 PM (I work at a grocery store stocking shelves so I am always moving around and lifting stuff; its similar to working out).
4.) Take my break at 7:00 PM (Normally I'll eat a yogurt or banana and a healthy frozen food meal, aka South Beach Personal Pizza)
5.) Go back to work at 7:45 and work until 11:30 PM or 12:00 AM
6.) At 12:30 AM or 1:00 AM I'll eat whatever is left over in the fridge, or eat snack foods. Occasionally, I will slip up and eat junk food here.
7.) Chillax from 1:00 AM until about 3:00 or 4:00 AM and then go to bed.

Basically, if someone has tips on how to lose weight or has an idea for a diet I am game. Right now, I have just been watching the total amount of Calories I eat in a day. I don't count them, but I just eyeball them and try to keep the number low.

It's typical in college. I gained almost 25. I eat a fry and gain a pound. Your metabolism ought to be good enough to let you lose those pounds with that kind of routine save for the late night junk foods. The closer you eat fatty foods to the time you sleep, the more you gain.

Hmm...UCF are you sure you're not covering over some poor eating habits?

19 pounds...with a good carb and protein diet?

    Come on now..:wink2:

More sleep, more water, watch the inbetween meals snacks, if one is going to drink then be certain your careful what you consume before, during and after.

Pouring beer over bread in your stomach before you go to sleep is not a good idea.

In a non-scientific way yes. Kept the same regiment and ate the same foods but at least 4 hours before sleep. Actually lost a little bit of weight instead of gaining it. May not be the same for everyone but it was for me.

moitor what you are drinking... i don't just mean alcohol. do you drink soft drinks? how many per day? coffee? with sugar? sweet tea with sugar? those calories, add up fast. had a buddy who runs a landscaping company switch from regular Mountain Dew to Diet while on the job and lost 25 pounds in 3 months. only thing he changed.

as far as diets go, my wife started weight watchers online (no meetings with people you don't know or care to be around) this time last year, and i jumped on the bandwagon too. i started walking too, and by November had lost 75 pounds.

cool thing about WW is, there is nothing totally off limits. you just have to adjust the rest of the day if you have pizza for lunch, for example. but there system is easy to catch onto, and once you catch on, you can compare foods and make better choices to stay full forever.

once i learned how to stay full on WW it was a breeze. since November i have not gained back a pound in my belly, and am still working out, gaining definition.

Losing weight is easy. There's one trick that will work: Portion Control

    http://www.aarp.org/health/staying_healthy/eating/size_does_matter.html

Eat what you want, just eat less of it. Your stomach will literally shrink and after a while, you'll be full with less food.

I lost 10 lbs this year and I don't even exercise. When I eat out, I never finish my meal. I take 1/2 home at eat it for breakfast or lunch.

Just to update everyone I have lost 10 pounds in about 4 and a half weeks!!!

It's been really easy so far, work has really gotten me back into shape. I am going to play in 2 Lacrosse leagues in the coming month so that should help me shed a lot more weight...

2-3 pounds per week... That's a healthy loss, no doubt. Congratulations!

I think the next time two hot ladies come up to you in the store and flirt with you, you need to take them home and work out with them for a couple hours. You could loose 5 pounds in one night.

You work in a grocery store right? Try eating the cut up fruit that is right in the store instead of pizza or whatever. I did that for about a year when my job had me right down the block from a supermarket. I used to just go and get like a pound or two of cut up fruits. You drop crazy weight because its filling but its all water weight so your body just lets it right out.
