And to think, most of us would have resented being called a geek at one time, now we're making the case that we are. What a ****ed up world.
Because it is a very geeky thing to do, and it makes your tv have accurate color representation, as well as maximizing its performance for the room it is in.
A geek, IMO, is simply a nerd with a specialty... We're all nerds, but geeks have different "cliques." ie, computer geek, math geek, roleplaying geek, video game geek... Many geeks multi-specialize, but most have a primary focus...
Just one of my many "minors." In my "nerd lexicon" it's a socially-inept nerd... Not just shy and has a hard time speaking to people, but the sort that doesn't shower regularly, has never dated (and probably never will), and talks almost constantly about the focus of their "geekdom." Nalyë caun faica!
So I wear glasses, like to read, play video games, like computers, like Weezer, and spend a lot of free time on a Dolphins message board...does that make me a geek/nerd?
