I think we are all kidding ourselves if we think there isnt a cure. I mean come on. Over the years we have cured all kinds of things. But in our life times little has been cured...why? One word...money. Cancer research/treatment is a multi million dollar industry.
As someone in the field, I can tell you it's a lot harder than you make it out to be. Sure money needs to be involved. Lab equipment, testing, and materials are all expensive because of the difficulty sometimes in procuring or manufacturing them. Not sure what you're getting at, but there's no greedy attitude about cancer research and it's funding at least for most researchers. It's the complexity of this disease that makes it harder to combat. This isn't one simple bacteria you throw an antibiotic at or one solution. There can be many and basically it's our own cells, each unique in form and function and each unique in how they exhibit cancer, that's at the cause. How do you selectively kill our own cells that have gone bad from those that are still good. We haven't figured out how to round up every criminal that's out there and that's as good an analogy to fighting cancer. The only approach we have are like random concentration camps and hope we have enough good ones left alive.
