    Too early to judge WAKE

Don't think that they would make that call on Wake this early, especially when they haven't seen him in pads.

My reasons why they made this move in no particular order:
    Roth still hasn't shown enough
Wake can use the seasoning, playing behind guys like JT and JP.
Our secondary is developing and way suspect, we have to defend the pass up front.
All three teams in the AFC East made moves to improve their passing game, but their QBs can't hook up with the WRs while flat on his back or being chased by JT and JP.

We just improved our pass defense in a big way!!

I think he can make a helluva impact even at 34, our Dline is young and very good, and we aren't dumb enough to put him at RDE like the Redskins did.

Standing up, with our dline keeping blockers off of him, and with as well as he can drop into coverages, he'll do fine.

I can't wait to see the Sparano presser on Aquavision.

Can I borrow some glue so I can tape the burnt ashes of the jersey back together? :shifty:

Which is why I believe he was signed. I don't think it means Wake stinks, but as you said, added help is always a good thing.

True, but then again, we aren't sure if there was a time pressure on this.

As for Wake, we can use all the passrushers we can find, and JT at 1.1 million this season is a whopping bargain, at least Wake can play some DE on passing downs as well, or we can flop JT and Wake, or put JT in the middle.

JT gives us a ton of options, and...he's healthy...that calf injury last season might have made appear more diminished then he actually is.

JT could be this season's Chad Pennington.

This is great simply for the fact that the Pats don't get him. Regardless of what you want to say about his age, his tactics (leaving when things were bad and back when things have improved), or anything else the guy showed amazing loyalty to us the Dolphins fans. I mean really how many players would have not jumped at a chance to play with NE and their Super Bowl hopes. In addition he will add valuable pass rushing skills to go along with Porter and everyone else and I don't see this in any way harming a young guy as he will probably be a situational guy.

Great signing and it does help the team. Welcome back JT.

seriously, the way this JT stuff worked out for us was amazing

we trade him and his huge contract for a 2nd round pick... and then its not like we bomb without him, we as fans still enjoy an amazing season... now we use that 2nd round pick on an exciting offensive weapon, and now we have JT back at bargain basement pricing...

    talk about a sweet deal

And the Redskins look like fools in the process again. Has Dan Snyder seen Wilford in Jacksonville, we can make it happen for a small fee.

This should open up the middle a little bit for the DEs and NT cause its going to be hard to double team in the middle with JT and JP coming from both sides.
That just has a good ring to it, JT and JP.
I bet Tom Brady said, "Oh Crap" when he heard the news He probably choked on his Shirley Temple.

That is hard to say, is JT a everydown player for us? Who can say? Is he better then Matt Roth as a run stopper?

I'd tend to doubt that as all playing JT over there would accomplish is wearing him down.

Even still though, JT is a great Hybrid DE/OLB, to me I'd line him up all over the place looking for mismatches.

So take that "known" add in his knowledge of dropping back into zone coverages and playing inside or outside, as a Defensive Coordinator has a new wrinkle they can add.

To me, the Redskins playing him as a full time Defensive end on a 3 man line borders on malpractice, the Redskins had a great "D" last season but still..

I totally disagree. He maybe wasn't as good as Roth against the, however he was good against the run. He wasn't a player a team could just run at and get tons of yards. He is also a player who if a team would run away from him, he had the ability to get the runningback from behind.
