This league is QUICKLY losing me as a fan... what a ****ing piece of **** it has become.

That is not a flagrant foul let alone a flagrant two.

Would anyone blame Ron Artest for randomly committing a REAL flagrant two in the next game? I sure wouldn't.

  2. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Not a flagrant two. I have a feeling that the league will change it tomorrow.

But I guarentee that if Artest tries to do anything as some type of calling card, David Stern will boot him right out of the league. Something tells me you wouldn't say that if Artest was playing in the East and against Wade and the Heat...

On second thought. I would be okay with Artest doing it provided it was against Luke Walton.

How the hell can this *****-*** league get a flagrant 2 from THAT? That is crap. I don't care who it is.

Good game for Farmar. Started and probably did better than Fisher.

I didn't think that was a flagrant but hey, always fun seeing Artest booted....

Report on air during the ATL / CLE game... Yao Ming is officially out for the remainder of the playoffs.

With this announced, is ANYONE interested in a SINGLE second round series going on right now?

CLE / ORL & LAL / DEN better be the two greatest series ever or else this postseason = major disappointment.

Shame. He was the only Rocket I liked out of a crew that consists of an Oregon Duck, 2 failed Lakers (one a selfish headcase), a bad rapper, a Duke Blue Devil, an Argentinian, and a bunch of midgets pretending to be PF's.

Lebron vs Dwight / Kobe vs Carmello

It's a battle of the phenoms, and if it does end up this way I would be surprised if it disappointed. Especially considering each of those guys actually have supporting crews who have played great this season.

Are public expectations going to be failed unless we see another Boston/Chicago crazy series I wonder?

I had a feeling that this might happen. I get the sense that L.A. was fighting to regain home court, did so and took a game off.

I still think they win this series, but they had a chance to essentially snuff them out today, and never got it going until the fourth quarter.

Frankly, I am happy that I forgot to tivo this game.

Samphin not to look ahead, but in your mind, would you give Denver much of a chance going up against your squad in a 7 game series? I'm just curious to see what Lakers fans think of Denver.

Honestly, I don't think I have seen one game of Denver's here in the post season. I watch part of game 3 the other day, but missed the final part where they came back.

It will depend on Bynum to be honest. If he can play defense and stay on the court, it will open things up for Gasol. When I heard Yao went out, I knew Gasol was going to go nuts. I expect him to have a big series against Denver should they advance.

L.A. has shown themselves to be vulnerable to fast point guards, and Chauncey Billups has torched them in the past. Mix in that they are the hottest team in the playoffs not named Cleveland, and yes, they have a legit shot.

L.A. went 3-1 against Denver in the regular season. In the three wins, they scored 104, 104 and 116. In the one loss, 79.

That is a HUGE swing in points. Just like the Rockets, is Denver can hold L.A. under 100, they have a shot. I do expect L.A. to win though. :hi5:

In other news, expect Kobe to come out firing in game 5.

And Phil keeps putting Fisher on them. Hasn't learned his lesson all these years. You could see a marked difference from when Farmar was on Brooks rather than Fisher.

Hopefully Lakers got their wake-up call.

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Its the playoffs, you don't go far without a substantial presence in the middle. At least not in the West.

Yao was that presence. Yao is now gone. I don't think Houston will beat L.A., despite your fervered joy in seeing the Lakers lose.

Besides, High Def qualified it by saying, not looking ahead. :hi5:

I missed yesterdays game due to Mother's Day activities and forgot to TiVo it. I think I am glad I did. As I checked the scores every quarter, it appeared as if L.A. slept through the majority of the game. It appears that Battier went nuts, as did Brooks, which tells me that yes, Fisher was guarding him.

I would really like to see Farmar play when Brooks is in and have Fisher come off the bench as a spot up three pointer. I think L.A. plays better that way and a second unit that consists of Bynum and Fisher is NOT a bad thing.

Anyhow, I expect Kobe to come out firing in game five and Pau most likely can not be stopped. They need Lamar or Ariza to get their shot to fall so that the tempo can be pushed throughout.

But Yao being out was the difference. The Lakers had no answer for the pick and roll, Brooks ate them alive.

I saw the first half of it at the restaurant we went to. That was enough.

Definitely. Not to mention, Farmar's got more experience against Brooks from college and pros than Fisher. He knows how to keep up with Brooks better than most players. And he actually has the speed and hops to do so. Also forces Brooks to play D as well when Farmar himself gives him a dose of his own medicine. Plus, he's actually making his 3's unlike Fisher...

LO's questionable for now I believe. Ariza needs to step up and if we still can't rebound with intensity, bring Josh Powell in LO's place. The guy boxes out and fights for the rebound.

    I'll help you out.

Kobe is a top three player.

    Pau is a top 5 PF/combo

Bynum in this centerless era can dominate on any given night any of about 28 other centers.

    Fisher is efficient.

Sasha is a high percentage shooter.

Ariza is a top flight defender of 2's and 3;'s.

Odom is the best off the bench BIG since Alonzo Mourning.

    Yep..that is talented as hell.

You also have a Hall of fame coach.

so yes. Kobe should kill himself if he doesn;t win it this year. can't get any better. This is as good as this Laker group is EVER going to be.

    Adding talent is overkill.

    An Achilles Heel.

The Heat almost pulled off the Laker sweep this year because of that same reason.

Like I said, I didn't see the game, so I will defer to Regan.

But I think we all can agree that Fisher on Brooks = not good. He simply can't keep up. Maybe if he chucks an elbow into his grill, it would slow him down...:shifty:

You stick someone like Farmar on him, as they did at the end of game two and in game three and Brooks looks very, very pedestrian.

Pretty much and lots of kick outs to wide open shots. Think technical foul shot distance between defender and shooter.

  38. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Meh. Sasha has been crap all year long. I don't think you can qualify him as a high percentage shooter. For his career he is a 39.2% shooter and 37.7% from behind the arc. Both of which, he was BELOW this season.

Fisher shot 42% from the floor this year, but is down in the playoffs and his 3 point shooting is a puke worthy 25% through the first two rounds. Hardly efficient. The best thing he has done all playoffs long was get himself OFF the court by elbowing Scola.

Kobe and Pau are great players, I agree there, but Odom still owes me about 37 more points in this series and Bynum has been flat out awful. Saying he can dominate on any given night is like saying Fiedler could dominate any given football game. Sure it happens here and there, but not enough to warrant him a threat. Until he can play defense and rebound consistantly, he is no better than say, Varejao. The stats in these playoffs bear that out.

Do I think the Lakers are a talented team? Absolutely. Do I think they are the most talented team in the history of the league? Hell no. I don't think they are the most talented Lakers team of the past 10 years, to be honest.

But I recognize the double edged sword. If they win it all, everyone will talk about how talented they are and whatnot. If they lose, it will be how KOBE can't win the big one. How his selfishness knocked the team out, etc.
