Your kidding, right? The refs have been horrid in both games so far, in favor of the Rockets.

No, Derek Fisher just earned his big boy stripes. Scola is a ***** and Fisher just did the Lakers a favor twice over. First, he got his non shot making self off the court. And second, I would be willing to bet my house that this pays off, either in this game, or the next in getting under the Rockets skin.

    God I love playoff basketball.

And how funny was it to see Vujacic and Scola jawwing with each other? I thought a soccer game was going to bust out.

And yes, Fish will get suspended for a game, possibly two but that is harsh considering that Scola wasn't hurt.

It is pretty much a fact that Fisher is one of the best guys in the NBA, so for him to do what he did, means SOMEONE did something wrong. He just doesn't do that, ever.

He deserved to be booted, but I LOVE what he did. No different than Raja Bell throwing Kobe to the ground a couple of years ago. The only difference, if there was one, is that Raja is a certified punk, whereas Fisher is not.

That was very dirt by Fisher and he should be suspended

Artest is gone. Am I a prophet about it paying off or what?

And did anyone see Adelman pat one of his players on the butt...multiple times at once? That was...odd.

Oh, wow... Kobe elbowed him under the basket there, then he's explaining that he got hit in the neck, and he gets thrown out because Joey Crawford THINKS he was signaling a "throat slash"

You Lakers fans are something else, too. This is unbelievable. Congratulations on being HANDED another title. Artest will be suspended because he's Ron Artest. Fisher won't because he's a model citizen.

I hope that when Houston loses this series, Ron Artest punches Kobe in the face and forces him to rock the Rip Hamilton mask for the rest of the playoffs.

Thrown out for signaling to Joey Crawford that Kobe elbowed him in the neck... sad.

Lakers aren't going to win the title. Kobe can't get it done without Shaq.

Thrown out because the moron ran from the ref, to Kobe to confront him and wouldn't shut the hell up afterwards. Listen, Artest is like clockwork. The guy gets bent out of shape over EVERYTHING he feels is a miscarriage of justice to him.

Call it the Milton Bradley effect or whatever you want. You could tell it was coming.

I like Artest, wishhe played for L.A., but it was obvious it was coming. And the elbow was unintentional. If Artest can't hang down low and battle for a rebound, then maybe he deserves to go sit in the locker room, next to Von Wafer, who apparently has the IQ of a flea.

And I think Fisher WILL get suspended, and deservedly so, but yes, past behavior should, and does bring about stiffer penalties.

Weren't you the one crowing about how hard fouls and flagrants should be in every series?

And we'll take a handed championship. Similar to when the Heat were handed it from Dallas...no? :wink2:

I have no interest in the tainted opinion of a Lakers fan (probably bandwagon at that).

    But congratulations on the title.

Tell me again how the refs gave the last series to the Hawks again? I beg this of you.

edit: and Bandwagon. Oh god yes, please feed the hate. The color of jealousy is coming out. The bandwagon card is the last, desperate attempt to salvage an argument that you cannot win. I know, I have used it multiple times on Red Sox/Yankees/Patriots/Steelers fans.

No worries, though mate. I still love ya on here. One of my favorite posters in fact. At least we got the Dolphins! :hi5:

The technical was ticky tack and Crawford knows it. But they have to try and maintain some order, so I understand it. Kobe should too.

Despite what Collins says, that was NOT a planned play. Kobe was in the right spot at the right time to put that back in.

I have to throw the bandwagon card when you're a Lakers fan in Texas. :wink2:

And no, the Heat got outplayed by the better team in the first round. That is my true belief. I've called the Hawks a better team all season, but figured we'd have a shot due to having the best player on the court in every game, and we did, but we blew it in that Game 4.

But I'll be honest; I love Kobe Bryant the basketball player. He's one of my five favorite athletes all time to be honest with you. I'm just an annual underdog fan.

I do think the league will come down harsh on Artest the balance of this series, though. They'll never give that guy the benefit of the doubt.

no. he was clearly buying time because he had already left his feet and had arms in his face. so he tipped it off the glass to give him time to jump again. that was deliberate.

Nope. Not at all. If you're alluding to Wade's FT numbers, which I know you are, then you certainly didn't watch the closing game where we went up to Dallas and manhandled that basketball team on BOTH SIDES OF THE FLOOR (as well as the coaching staff on the benches) in front of their 40,000+ crybaby fans. I don't have a problem with contact fouls. This is the NBA. Superstars will always get those calls. I've got a problem with guys getting hammered and nothing being called, then the superstar comes down the other way and gets touched and boom! Free throws on deck.

I thought Dirk got a ton of "superstar" calls throughout that series, but he's one of the softest players in the league so most weren't going to the basket. Lots of "touch" (reach in) fouls called on Haslem and Poz in that series. Quite possibly the most I've ever seen during the course of six basketball games. Seriously.

Wait. Why are we discussing the Miami Heat? They're hitting up South Beach right now... irrelevant to this thread.

I am actually in California (You may know me better as Samphin). The Texas thing is a joke, and since you have outed my latest destination, I now must change it.

I love hard hitting basketball. When my Lakers are involved, I love it even more. Fires me all up. I may go dropkick my cat now to try to wear some of it off.

All I can say is, really, this is going to be a better series for a guy like me than Boston / Chicago. I live to watch old school / physical basketball. Probably going to be the most physical series in years.

Clearly planned and there is no doubt in my mind. Great play by Kobe

Ron Artest is crazy but he should not be suspended for a game. If he is than Kobe needs to join him. he hit Artest in the throat and the foul is on Artest? :pity: wtf? Kobe taunts people the whole game and its ridiculus.

Hopefully we can see Artest and Bryant both in game 3 so we can continue to have a great series. No way Derek Fisher should be in game 3 and I would not have a problem with a 2 game suspension. He was clearly trying to hurt someone unlike Kobe, Scola, or Artest.

Stu Jackson is licking his chops right now... Rafer Alston, Derek Fisher, Ron Artest / Kobe Bryant.

The guy lives for nights like this. He can't wait to go to his office and review those tapes.

Refs make bad calls all the time and its very hard to tell but it happens. I dont blame artest tho cause I would go crazy had I taken a shot to the throat and had the call go againist me.

    WTF happened with Von Wafer?

kobe with a cheap shot, i dont blame artest for getting mad...didnt think he deserved to be kicked out though....alston that was just funny, you could tell that neither of them really wanted to fight...fisher with a cheap shot :pity: i hope he gets suspended for that, that was really uncalled for. i was hoping to see houston retaliate with a hard foul back, but of course not...

Wafer...is an idiot, which makes sense why he was cut from the Lakers D-League squad. I suppose his pea brain had a hard time with the Triangle.

Looking back on the Fisher play, it looks worse than it was, to be honest. The shoulder/elbow was buried into his chest and they bumped heads unintentionally. He didn't go high on him. The fact that Scola did a tremendous fall job (not saying he flopped, just that he fell in a spectacular way), adds up to it being worse.

I don't know. If they suspend Alston, I guess you have to suspend Fisher too. But I would suspend Alston for slapping like a girl more than anything.

And is Rick Adelman even aware that he is a coach of an NBA team? The guy apparently has little to no soul. Everytime I see him, I see a vacant void of a person. I think he is having flashbacks to when he coached the Kings or something.

And what the hell was Ron Artest rambling on about? You can tell that guy is highstrung, he keeps jumping from topic to topic before he finishes a thought. The thoughts keep popping into his head and he races himself to get them heard.

Someone should tell him to go sell three more rap cd's so that he can call it an even dozen.

I love him as a basketball player and wanted him in L.A. before he went to Houston. But I think he thinks he is smarter than he is, which makes him come off as even more of an idiot.

Besides, he referred to himself in third person tonight, which means Borderland Wolf officially have a bloodfued with him.

Oh and another thing, Sir Charles lifted my Scalabrine/Rappaport comparison tonight too.

I don't know whether to be flattered or violently pissed.

Shows what you know I guess. I wasn't thinking of Wade at all (I don't believe he's ever really popped up in my mind often seeing as he's not a division rival or even in the conference). Like you say, they're out. But I notice you do wear the Heat shades and yet you call out others for wearing their team's...

I'm just going to pass this off since I know you usually get a little heated about things but keep in mind, I'm also not one to back down when people talk trash about my teams (happens a lot and not just here). That includes the Dolphins, Dodgers, and Lakers.

Mmm hmm, real Kobe love there...:wink2:

They kept mentioning Deron Williams did the same to Bynum. He didn't even get a flagrant though...

lol, well, as I told my Rockets fan friend, Wafer makes Alston look like John Stockton. Ball-hog in every way. Still not happy we picked him but oh well.

    That.was.hilarious.

How did a guy that big - 1. Go down so easy? 2. Go down that hard?

I mean it looks like Fisher hit him solidly (should probably get a game), but it looks like the guy that got hit sold it pretty f'in well too.

It's like Pacquiao knocking down Mike Tyson....

I thought it was really uncharacteristic of Fisher but I guess he was trying to get his team pumped up. Scola was mouthing off at Odom and other Lakers earlier, they blew big leads and looked sluggish, the Rockets were playing more physical at that point, someone needed to make a point. Probably should get a suspension (still, Farmar did a better job on Brooks anyways) and I kinda disagree with the move but I guess it had to happen to shed the soft label. Could be a Jerry Sloan thing though since Deron did the same exact thing....

How is this not already made into one of those "Amazing happens" commercials.
