Made the mistake of watching 88 Minutes. What a gigantic steaming pile of crap-which sucks because I really like Al Pacino, and I would gladly eat ice cream out of Alicia Witt's pooper. So I was hoping for more.

Watched 'Cube' on IFC (great channel). Interesting movie, Saw II reminds me of it a bit, pitting everyone against each other and such. I'd say it's worth a look:up:

I just saw that too. It was a little slow but I thought it was terrific.

Yep, one of the worst movies I've seen in, well, ever.

I'm sure most of ya'll have seen Hancock. ugh.....

I've only heard negative things about it and about half-way through I was confused as I found it funny and pretty good. Then the twist came and wow did the last half hour turn to complete crap! I was so mad when the story de-railed that I actually wanted Hancock and the girl to die at the end.

Just watched Slumdog Millionaire. I had forgotten about it until I read the story about the father trying to sell one the little kid actors (uhh, might be the oddest sentence I've ever written).

8/10. I really liked the first two thirds of the movie a lot. The little kids were cute as hell and their acting was terrific. I thought the ending dragged out a bit and I'm confused at one part, maybe someone can help?

Why did Salim throw Jamal out of the hotel room? Did he have sex with Lakita or something? Or just turn her over... I must have missed something because that part made no sense to me.

Watched the doc Thrilla in Manila. It was really good. Paints Ali as a complete ***, and makes you feel for Joe Frazier. Pretty sad to see how bitter he is to this day.

Frazier just feels like Ali always went out of his way to be an *** and disrespectful him.

Joe's attitude is that Ali got what he deserved.

It was an ok movie. The ending sucked, but Marisa Tomei's body helped me get over that.

I'm not completely done watching it yet, but so far I've loved it. I've laughed out loud a couple of times, but it might be because I've seen the Star Wars movies hundreds of times. I think it would probably even be funny if I had never seen Star Wars.

I would give em hell for never seeing American Psycho, but I've never seen Boondock Saints so I ain't got room to talk.

I heard Boondock was a love it or hate type of movie. What would you compare it to?

Hmm. I can't really think of anything to compare it to.

IMO, it's one of the most overrated movies ever. I have no idea why so many people love it. Probably just an Irish thing.

I thought American Psycho was really overrated too so that's why I said that.

I couldn't make it through "American Psycho." It was oppressively bleak. "Boondock Saints," on the other hand, was really enjoyable.

    My last three:

"Wolverine" It was ok. Not anywhere near the bar set by recent comic book films. Still, fairly entertaining. The cast made up for a very pedestrian script.

    "Obsessed"
    Yawn.

"Battle for Terra" This was a quite good animated 3-D feature. Pretty decent sci-fi, despite being somewhat aimed at younger audiences, I think. Best of the three.

I saw the new Star Trek movie and you can see my mini-review here in this thread: http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?t=18945&page=3

I also saw Fast and the Furious 4 and that was decent, not good just decent. I wish they had more car stuff in it since it is supposed to be the Fast and the Furious but I guess they did so much of that in the last one that they toned it way down this time here.

I have seen at home a wicked movie on HBO called 'Funny Games'. I recommend it as a wicked type of dark comedy/thriller. Think 'The Strangers' just more disturbing IMO.

I have also had a chance to see the updated versions of Star Trek: The Original Series Season 1 and 2 (soon Season 3). I am a little behind here as they have been out for awhile but I hadn't seen them other than a couple of times on TV here and there since they would put them on at odd hours and I only caught an episode or two. I thought the updated visuals were good, but now that I saw them all the way through...wow.

WOW. Is all I can say. The updated visuals really make it look better. I love it. In fact I love it so much I tried to watch my old DVD versions with the original '60s effects and couldn't. Screw 'purity', I think these new effects make the Original Series better than EVER. Even my 6 year old and 5 year old have gotten into Star Trek now.
