I deleted my earlier reply. I completely misread your post.

Definitely, flu vaccines are a good thing.

    Sorry bro.

All is good brother, as always :hi5:

I have been heavily anticipating your feedback in particular on this entire issue. Nothing like a calm head and a strong expertise to go along with it. I am reading so many conflicting things my head is spinning.

I honestly don't do flu shots due to my track record with them, however, the girls are immunized annually and I am beginning to re-think my own logic.

I obviously hope that the current incident blows over, and perhaps most importantly, that we learn lessons from it

There's a new technology that's applicable here. It won't help now, since the virus has migrated to the human population. However, in the future it should help to contain the spread of livestock-bred diseases.

Too close to me. (less than 2 minutes drive)

EDIT: The plane came from Seattle. I do not believe the baby is from Seattle as the rotator comes in from Seattle. The infant could've come from anywhere in the US before stopping at Seattle.

Thanks for the kind words, my friend. :)

Vaccination is a good thing because it not only protects you but it protects every other person you come into contact with. If you can not contract the virus, no one you are around can get it from you. It is called "herd immunity". The idea is that if you vaccinate the entire herd, save one, that one unvaccinated cow won't get sick because there will be no reservoir for the disease.

As for this virus, the jury is still out but I think it is a good move to be cautious. Any time a virus jumps the species barrier, there is a reason for concern. This virus has already proved to be deadly and, in this era where a person can be on one side of the planet in the morning and on the other side of the planet by the next morning, diseases are no longer regionally isolated. We've seen this happen with the mutant strain that started in Mexico with one young child and has now spread around the world.
