Ronnie Brown is not listed as a QB, therefore he is eligible to play either position any time because he is listed as one of the starting 45. if he was listed as the third or emergency QB then that would not be able to happen. He would be limited in his ability to enter the game, more specifically; QB 1 + 2 would not be able to re-enter.

    Is this for real?
After 3d string QB enters the game, the first two can not come ONLY IF HE WAS INACTIVE but he will be. Like Marty said, our entire roster can be filled with QBs. As long as they are active, that is not a problem. Cant believe this is being argued over.

Ronnie Brown is a RUNNING BACK and part of the 45 man active roster and therefore eligible to take snaps as a QB without issue. you want to split hairs about emergency vs third QB when my answer is about a running back then fine.:pity: We could have just two QB's on the roster and designate Pat White a WR and part of the active roster and he could be our third QB and use him if needed without issue as well. I know we will designate all three as QB and we may or may not carry all on the active roster or designate one as "emergency" in the traditional manor. If my use of "third" in a vague way as apposed to specifically stating "emergency" is the issue then by all means, correct away. That was not my point.

Or Henne will be the emergency QB, Pat finishes the game up and Henne gets the other starts

and When CP is hobbled but still playing all 3 are active and we deactivate one the 17 TE's we will carry

3rd QB versus Emergency QB deal aside: doesn't there have to be someone listed under the QB position on the roster on the field for a non special teams offensive play - hence why we had Chad out there all the time?

We keep Chad out there to achieve the defensive personel package we want to see.

As of now he is listed at QB, which is fine. You would make the #5 WR inactive because I would imagine if they're in a 5 Wide, Pat is going to be one of the WR. At the same time make no mistake, the kid is a QB.

Lombardi is wrong. Since White is a QB/WR, he could be listed as a like a 4th or 5th or even 6th WR and play Qb every other snap between Henne and Chad if we wanted.

if pat white was listed as a WR he would be able to but he is listed as a QB Ronnie Brown is listed as a RB so he can take the snaps

Sparano acknowledged that the Dolphins had talked about the "third quarterback" dilemma before the draft. I blogged on this on draft day. Sparano said that White would be the second quarterback in that scenario, but that the situation would be fluid, and needed to be further considered. The question is whether to activate Chad Henne as the third guy, or to make him the "third quarterback." There are advantages and disadvantages to both. If Henne is inactive, and he enters before the fourth quarter, then Chad Pennington and White wouldn't be allowed to play anymore. If Henne is active, that means that the Dolphins would need to deactive another player, to get to eight. And that guy might be valuable on special teams.
